Thanks Frank! I actually got it back together. Took me a little while but the worst part was just knocking the receiver far enough onto the frame to get the mainspring pin back in. Then it took me another 25 minutes to get the dangly thing in the right place. Thanks, yeah I checked out like every dis/assembly video on YouTube. I was just surprised by the amount of force it took to get apart.

Well I just took my Mk III to the range for the first time! :banana-dance: :banana-dance: 300 rounds and not a single failure of any kind! Of course taking it apart was another story, I got my mallet out and with a few (more like 20) solid whacks the receiver finally came off. And fell on my workbench and now it has a tiny ding :angry-cussingblack: Alas.. Anyway, I have one of those Hoppes pistol cleaning kits with the aluminum rod. I noticed the rod is already picking up a few scratches--can the rod scratch my bore? Or is the bore too hard for that? Wish me luck putting it back together.

Should see if she's interested in those mounted shooting courses! I took riding lessons for about a week when I was 10. The instructor used to kick dirt at my horse to make him go faster because I was too scared to do it myself.

Well to anyone who's been curious.. I got fingerprinted a week ago, and my permits are ready! I am pumped. 5 weeks start to finish.

I'd be interested! Depends on my work schedule on the particular day, but if I can be there, I will.

Well, I called today and the gentleman informed me that my permit is ready! 5 weeks on the dot. After hearing some stories here, I can say I am definitely pleased.

well the deed is done..got printed this morning. I got there 10 minutes early and was out before my appointment was even supposed to start. now we play the waiting game

Livingston. I didn't realize the Sagem Morpho thing was for the whole state. She did said they "just changed the system," but I wasn't sure just how recently. Guess I would have been better off doing it a month ago. Oh well!

The good news: I turned in my permit application today! The bad news: My town outsources fingerprinting. And when I went online to set up an appointment, the first available date wasn't for a month. The nice lady at the desk said I should call back in 6-10 weeks to check on the status, but do you think that means 6-10 weeks from today? Or from the date I get fingerprinted? 4 months sure seems like a long wait.. In the mean time I guess I can do some shopping!
