We had NAVY champagne....coffee!! Funny you should mention ‘surf and turf’ meals we had on the boat. We did have prime rib and lobster on a semi-regular basis. Sounds awesome, right?? Yeah, I know...there goes the bubblehead whining about eating prime rib and lobster while being deployed. The cases of ‘meat’ we schlupped aboard the boat we all marked “for for human consumption”. Prisioner grade meat. It was pretty rough. We have another submariner here (his screen name escapes me, but he is currently serving on my old boat, USS Topeka), I’m pretty sure he’ll verify this!! Now, the ‘Chair Force’ guys, (love you long time, no shit, Air Force, lol), THEY had it good!! They didn’t have to hot rack in the torpedo room!

Deer are pests....albeit tasty pests. They cause a lot of damage to cars, crops, yards, and they breed fairly unchecked in NJ. I wish they would have longer hunting seasons in NJ (not that I would hunt on public land...especially since I own a ranch back home in Tx), but the population needs to be controlled and managed .

BigHungry is right! Hell, I don’t want to think of the stuff I ate in Asia back in my Navy days. I know I’ve eaten chicken feet (actually pretty tasty), but I KNOW there were ‘things’ in some of the dishes I ate that I don’t REALLY want to know about, even though they were damn tasty!
