  1. I don't think the people would be that interested.. LOL you know I still have that thing..
  2. the thing that is the most crazy to me is even further than that.. I feel reasonably comfortable around you and guns... but that is because I know you.. and have been around you and guns.. LOL but the average idiot.. they are exponentially more likely to shoot themselves or someone else while they are drawing and then clearing a gun.. VS just leaving the damn thing in the holster.. its all about rules and laws designed to make us feel like we are doing something good.. when in reality we are doing nothing... OR worse.. potentially CAUSING a problem.. how do you think this place would react to my old range bag.. LOL
  3. maybe they make you unload it in a NON shooting area.. so you can then load it 20 seconds later in the shooting area.. these people could possibly also be NJ law makers... LOL just to be clear.. with all my obnoxious comments.. I think its great someone opened a nice facility.. especially in south jersey.. it just sounds like they are a new business.. and terrified something bad might happen.. so they have created some processes that maybe are not well thought out..
  4. the point is completely escaping you.. you live in a state where as a gun owner you are constantly under the microscope of scrutiny.. people here view what you are describing as invasive.. and people find it obnoxious that a gun business.. that should support gun rights.. is treating you again as if you should not be trusted.. you do not have an issue with it.. we get it.. what if the gun IS loaded... then what? what ridiculously unsafe process unfolds next? do they reach in for your gun? or do they make an unknown shooter pull out this random potentially loaded gun? in an area OTHER THAN the designated shooting area.. it just doesn't make sense..
  5. generally speaking.. especially with new.. or unknown shooters.. I would never "check the gun" until they went up to shoot.. the last thing I would want is someone NOT in the port taking a gun out and handling it.. if it is loaded.. its more likely to be a problem there.. you said there were no "excessive rules".. again.. by my experience.. any of this seams excessive.. the two ranges that I have been a member at.. I check in.. put on hearing and eye protection.. walk up to bench.. uncase gun.. and shoot.. there is NO inspection.. NO scrutiny... they are a private business.. free to do what they like.. I am just stating it is unusual to my experience..
  6. its weird to hear all these extensive inspections.. I have only been to two ranges in my life.. I was a member at both.. Atlantic County Range... like actually county run range.. I was never hassled in any way ever about anything that I can recall.. and the PA range that I am a member at now.. the only rule we have here is "take all alcohol home with you when you leave" (there is a sign on the refrigerator)
  7. I brought this up a long time ago and the NJSP are wrong... they are only a body of enforcement and lack the authority to dictate legal interpretation.. they MAY say that they would not arrest you.. but they can not say something is legal or illegal.. its not their job.. if you have any magazine that can readily feed more than the dictated amount it is illegal by the wording.. I say this because the wording has no reference to labeling or intention.. if what the NJSP said is true.. I could take 30 round AR mags.. and write "10 rounds" on them.. put them in packaging that says "10 rounds" and you could buy them.. because my design is to hold 10 rounds.. if it happens to hold 11.. 15.. 60.. it doesn't matter because I didn't design it to do that.. which is obviously not how it was written.. it is as intentionally broad as possible to cover every scenario.. can it hold and feed more than 10 rounds? yes? ILLEGAL... its that simple.. will you get arrested and go to jail? who knows.. but it is technically not allowed..
  8. 1100 rounds of 5.56 Law Tactical folder Overwatch Precision flat trigger Rail Scales
  9. I am sorry to say I don't know about dating them.. I have had so many Saigas of so many generations.. and to be honest.. I don't think I ever looked at when a single one was made.. someone at the Saiga forum might be able to give you an idea.. there are some people knowledgable on that subject.. but if you posted today.. you MIGHT get a response by Jan 2020.. place is dead..LOL
  10. I have ordered from them before and had no significant issue to speak of.. I understand things go out of stock.. I understand there can be issues.. but this exchange with the rep was beyond ridiculous.. Summary Rep: Hi I am here to help what can I do.. Me: order blah blah is on hold Rep: Oh I see your order is on hold.. just give us a call tomorrow.. Me: why is it on hold Rep: I don't know Me: can you get me someone who can help me Rep: they are not here Me: can you tell me why it is on hold Rep: no sorry I am not allowed to tell you buying something should NEVER be that hard.. it was absurd.. also just to be clear.. it was an unregulated part.. I wasn't trying to ship drums to NJ or anything..
  11. Dear Brownells... I am not sure what kind of operation you are running over there.. but let me just say.. not impressed.. I don't order often.. but decided to get in on a Black Friday deal.. item was in stock.. decent pricing.. so I made the order.. I check on some things and notice this morning that my order is on hold.. I try to call.. no one is there.. but then I notice chat is available.. and I think oh great I will get this resolved real quick.. NOPE.. spoke to two different people.. who were completely useless.. BUT it is important to note that they were not useless because of effort.. they were both great.. and patient.. these two people I spoke to today should be commended for staying calm as I expressed my displeasure.. so why were they useless you might ask? glad you asked.. I will tell you.. whatever ridiculous policy you have in place that caused my order to be "on hold" was something they are not permitted to fix.. they advised me I just needed to call tomorrow.. CALL??? is this like 1995??? why would I call when I am already taking time out of my schedule to deal with this.. I AM ALREADY TALKING TO A REP.. A REP THAT YOU HAVE STOPPED FROM ACTUALLY HELPING.. I work 60.. 70 hours a week.. and getting on the phone with you guys tomorrow is just not in the schedule.. the world moves fast.. and people need to be able to complete commerce fast.. asking me to call is similar to asking me to pen you a letter and send it via the mail.. if you can't handle things swiftly.. if you can't help customers when they are available.. you are obviously not the right company for me.. ironically I found the same part somewhere else.. somewhere that is happy to take my money.. pretty much the same price as well.. but the big bonus? they are not going to require me to work to make a purchase.. you are a huge company.. good pricing.. massive selection.. might be a good idea to up your customer support game a bit..
  12. I bought into the whole pistol brace to try it out.. they are good.. but they are not stocks.. I did a "hypothetical mock up without illegally attaching" of a magpul CTR stock.. and I think it would be perfect for this gun.. I really wanted to go with a metal folder.. but my wife talked me out of it.. she is sure that the CTR is better.. sadly after my "hypothetical mock up without illegally attaching" I have to agree with her.. the pistol braces are good.. but no stock replacement.. its not threaded.. yet.. I have definitely considered it.. this gun suppressed.. SBR.. would be really ideal.. the gun is very small... and has virtually no recoil... and so far has been really reliable.. for a $400 gun (well the gun itself not the rest of the shit LOL) its been a solid buy.. I am actually surprised more people don't own this thing... especially with the use of common Glock mags..
  13. I have no personal range time with any Century guns.. but I handled one once when hanging out with a FFl friend that came in for a transfer.. the action felt like it was polished with rocks and gravel.. and some of the gravel might still be in there.. the overall quality of this particular century gun was suspect..
  14. sorry missed this.. you can not have one like I have while in NJ... the gun I have is technically a pistol.. it takes 9mm Glock mags.. I think I will be getting a stamp for it to make it a SBR I have put together MANY Saigas.. and they always ran well..
  15. Went with Peltor Tactical 500.. have not been to the range yet.. but really conformable and audio is decent..
  16. yeah I have been watching.. I have seen great reviews for the metal and polymer ones.. so honestly I am probably just going to go with the polymer one.. since its like half the cost..
  17. probably going to actually pick this up..
  18. in the past the metric was can it hold more than 15 rounds.. didn't matter how it was sold or labeled or anything like that... also there was a letter I would have to really dig that talked about mag modifications.. does anyone have the actual text of the law as it is now?
  19. I am not 100% sure on the new law, and have not read the text word for word.. thats why I need some clarification.. EDIT TO ADD: I would also like to know if there is any actual verbiage for modified magazines.. as that was unclear in the past..
  20. I want to update the "is my "gun" legal" threads, but want to make sure I am providing accurate info.. my understanding is for semi auto it is 10 rounds now.. can someone in the know tell me if there are any other recent developments? I do not want to do a disservice by providing any false info.. thanks!!!

    1301 Update

That style front sight is what I am after but the gun currently has a front tower so I have to work around that.. my presence would be a single fiber front sight but I can’t go back in time and fix.. so I have to modify.. LOL
  22. I can see that.. I mean that is the only reason I ended up with that 9mm AK.. because it was "different"..
