  1. The only reloading equipment in stock there is dies, lubes, tumbler media, and a few odds and ends. Gene can try to order you almost anything you might want though. Best thing to do is stop in and inquire. Ken
  2. That is still the hours. If anyone really wants to call and find out if something is there you need to do it at just about 9pm on wed. If he has what you want have him set it aside for you and go get it Friday. Gene is a good guy like that. He has held stuff for me before. Ken
  3. That is the most important. I know of one shop that will only hold for 60 days then you forfeit you deposit. I wont start a war on gun stores here but just ask and read your layawway paperwork and you cant go wrong either way. Ken
  4. AK? I know they range from .308 to .312 depending on where they where made. Ken
  5. The ones I am having the a lot of trouble with are 45colt and the 460s&w magnum. Natchezs just got a shipment of 460 brass so I scooped some up quick. 5.7x28 brass is absolutely non existent. It was hard to find before this crap started again. I may take some of the 40 off your hands when I get up there. Ken
  6. Good point. I forgot all about them! Do they even make factory loaded 45 AR anymore? Ken
  7. I hope you are all having fun. I am jealous. I will be at the next one for sure. Ken
  8. I think it was just about as bad this time around. For a while I could not get anything. Now I can find most of what I want but it is still spotty. If there is powder, theres no primers, if there is powder and primers then there is not bullet heads, Brass? what brass. That is still dam hard to find! Ken
  9. Just remember that 45 colt is different than both of them. Ive gotten a box or two of 45 colts from my friends that "in a rush" grabbed that instead of 45 auto/ 45 ACP. Ken
  10. Ive always burned them. The first time you do it it feels dam weird. I refuse to fly a tattered flag and I feel naked if I am not flying one. Retiring a weathered flag is just about an annual event at my house. Ken
  11. You have to just keep checking around. I have been able to get all the 22lr's i need for all but one month when it was at its worst. I have been paying more than in the past for the 500 round bricks but I put an upper limit of $29 on it. If they are more than that I pass. Rite now I have 3 bricks so I have stopped looking. The reason the OP sees them as so dam expensive is because of luckygunner.com and cheaperthandirt.com. They have them in stock because they want dam near $100 a brick. They are out there, They just dont sit on the shelf as long as they used to. Ken
  12. I just cant bring myself to go to Florida in the winter. Im seriously thinking about going to the Knob Hill machine gun shootout this spring. The videos I have seen on youtube are just amazing. Ken
  13. Im out for this one. Thanksgiving weekend is tough enough to get away from. To add more difficulty to it my water heater decided to start spewing all over the basement. That just became my Saturday project. I hope everyone eats until way past full today and enjoys some family time in the process. I will see you guys at the next one. Ken
  14. Bullet heads are tough rite now. If its not a common caliber they just are not making them. I was just at Solomons tonight and they dont have much in the bullet head catagory. They are doing good with powder though. I would give Gene a call and ask him about it. He might have them. I know he will be open tomorrow night because ashe worded it "Its not a holiday! Ill be here" Ken
  15. CFE223 works really good in an AR. I have been using it for about a year now. It is a real fine ball powder that meters really good. It looks almost just like win 748 but it smells different. You can work up a load to a pretty high velocity and not see any signs of overpressure. Once you push it too far you will see severe pressure warning signs (primers fall out, Primers cratered and flowed out of pocket, ejector stamped into head of case) come on really fast, within .2gn difference fast. Ken
  16. Sadly enough this is just about true. I believe this is one of the main reasons we are where we are now. Unfortunalty starting your own ammo plant in this country at this time will only result in frustration. Getting powder, brass, bullet heads, and primers will still be a problem, even as a manufacturer. That and startup, equipment, instaltion, etc.. it will be really tough to be competitive and turn a good enough profit to make it worth it. It could be done but it would be one tough road for sure. Ken
  17. Thats the one that should be showing up on my doorstep soon. Its been a long wait but only 2 more weeks to go. Giraud is still backed up 12 weeks. Ken
  18. Just google the Remington etronix. You will see clearly how much the fudds like electronics in guns! The shame is it was actually was a decent design. lock time could be measured in milliseconds. Ken
  19. When I size em with the redding die they rattle in the cylinder. When sized with the RCBS die they have just a little wiggle and just feel like the fit is better. I dont posses the tools to get an exact measurement so my terminology will have to suffice! I lubed both pieces of brass in the pic with RCBS caselube 2 and a good old school lube pad. That has always been my go to solution for tricky brass. This brass was not really a hot load, I would place it at moderate. It was 44gn of lilgun under a 240gn XTP-MAG, max is just under 52gn. They fell out of the cylinder when I opened it and tipped it back. The first pic I uploaded on post 1 was a brand new piece of brass. The second pic I uploaded a couple days ago was fired once. I just dont know what to do with this die. Ken
  20. Eric is a decent guy. There are some that dont like him but he has never done me wrong. He has also never really updated his website in a timely manner. I think the move happened a few months ago. As far as I know ordering is good to go now. Ken
  21. This is my favorite time of year to shoot. I make it a point to go shoot on the coldest days. You can go to the range all by yourself and get some piece and quiet! i love winter and the cold. Makes me miss Alaska. Winter has always been my favorite time of the year. Cold weather used to weed out the weak before the government took care of them. Ken
  22. I have not. I would consider it if the brass is good. From what I have seen, its not a bad price for reloadable brass ammo. Ken
  23. Any powder for $15 per pound is worth buying. All the ones I use have been in the $20 range for over a year now. It pays to shop around. I have seen some over $30. FWIW, I use 9 different powders from 2 manufactures Ken.
