  1. A bear caused a great traffic disruption rite here at exit 8 on the NJTP. they are all over NJ. I have personally seen one in east windsor Ken
  2. thats a new one... gonna go look it up. Ken
  3. So, who on here is going? Im curious who I may meet this time. Ken
  4. Those nail plates do indeed suck! There is enough room to drive a sheetrock nail in them to make them stay on though. The ones you can get at my local plumbing supply house kick a**! I guess plumbers have less patience than electricians... Ken
  5. Mine does the same exact thing. It is a cantact dent. I think the brass flips around and whacks the receiver on the way out. After a few thousand rounds mine still does it. They resize and reload fine though. Ken
  6. I dont know what went wrong. I do know that if they cant call NICS rite then and there I will come back when they can. Both times they faxed mine it got lost or thrown out or whatever.... When they call NICS the approval takes about a minute. Ken
  7. Never let a FFL fax a NICS. Those smacked asses will loose it (nics) and you have to wait a day or two to get you gun. Its happened to me twice now. If NICS isnt open I will wait until they are. Ken
  8. You need to get your FID in order before you can get a pistol permit. I am not quite sure what the other part is. Did you move from a town that was serviced by the NJSP? If so I think that could be the reason. Ken
  9. I dont understand why there are so many people on this forum that will argue with LEO's about the ticket they got. I know I deserved every ticket I have gotten. There are some I definitely deserved and did not get. Just follow the rules of the road. If you are driving around with a visible to all problem with your car your gonna get stopped and maybe even ticketed. Is that not why the police patrol the roads? IDK Also, anyone who thinks the people on this forum are argumentative really needs to go look at some other forums. This one is great and not over moderated or overrun with mall ninjas like the rest I went through(try a diesel pickup truck forum if you wanna see ridiculous). Ken
  10. I just decided to wait til next month. I hate trying to do anything without the rite paperwork in hand. It will give me a little time to collect ammo as well. I will be there next month for sure. Ken
  11. Its a ****! The shot pattern gets real big real quick. The only way I could do it was to get quicker and hit em rite off the thrower. Ken
  12. I have no idea what happened to that card. I just signed up new. I must not have used my middle initial or something last time (many years ago) and could not figure it out how to renew online. I suppose I could just call but either way its good. Ken
  13. I have decided to join CJRPC after much though and questions to memebers of various ranges. My question now is can I submit my application without my NRA number? Honestly I let my NRA membership lapse due to financial dysfunction (now better!). The only reason I ask this is the membership committee meeting is tomorrow night. I did renew with the NRA but I have not received any info from them yet. I renewed my membership last night. If I have to wait until the meeting next month I will, I'm not in a mad rush. I am fairly sure I know what the answer will be but it just happens that I know I would have the time to go tomorrow night. Thanks all Ken
  14. Thats a good one! And I always thought shooting skeet (reliably and consistently too) with my 6" judge was real man skeet! It did take a LOT of practice to get good at. Ken
  15. IBEW Loal 269 journeyman. I do fun stuff! (see my pic in my signature) Ken
  16. Dam.... i think I just learned something new. Thats a very good explanation Ben! Ken
  17. I meant nothing sarcastic or challenging either. I am a licensed electrician with several years of electronics training as well. I could type out a long winded post about it but silent Service said it very well. Should we try to prepare for and experience an EMP the strategy on NatGeo would fail miserably. I am all for prepping and I try to do it based on valid info, thats all. Now, if you want a vehicle that runs after an EMP you need to find a late 80's or early 90's dodge pickup with the 12valve cummins and a manual transmission. You will need to remove the fuel shutoff solenoid and replace it with an old school "pull to stop" setup first. Second, you will need to make sure you can push start said vehicle. This truck will run with NO electrical system at all as long as you have the manpower and knowhow to push start it. And yes, I have such a vehicle at my disposal (but i am not preparing for an EMP only)! Ken
  18. Yeah, the taxes are ridiculous. Fortunately its a farm and farmland assessed but still ridiculous. Also, nothing else has come of this situation yet... thankfully. I will add to this post if anything does. Ken
  19. That is total BS! I just got 3 from East Windsor and I know for fact that I could go apply for and get 100 tomorrow. There are exceptions to the one gun a month law that could very well require you to get more than 2. One would be if you inherited a collection from a family member. Stand firm but dont make a giant argument about it. BTW, you can extend a PP for another 90 days so theoretically you can get 6 in one shot and use them all before they expire with carefull planning, And that is with the one gun a month rule. Ken
  20. Part of the reason I brought this up is that I would like to get a specific Black Rain Ordnance AR15 that would need to be brought up to New Jersey code. If I just order it from (whoever) and have it shipped to a New Jersey FFL i dont want to get stuck at that point. I need to figure out how to do this. The couple FFL's I deal with dont really want to touch this. Ken
  21. An EMP will induce a current into anything that will conduct electricity. This will gaurentee certain death for and solid state device and severely damage most mechanical electrical devices as well. Once the damage is done its permanent. A weak EMP from a solar flare can and has cause large scale blackouts in the past. The reason it only snarled up the grid is due to the sheer size of it. There are proably hundreds of millions of feet of wire that dring power to your home. A stronger pulse will put induce current into small things like your cars, appliances, homes, computers, etc..... One of the things that has been experimented with to stop a car is EMI. That is electro magnetic interference. This phenomenom is experienced when you hear lightning or a hum when you go under power lines in an AM station. Strong enough EMI will temporarily scramble solid state equipment. I hope that clears things up a bit Ken
  22. millstone Twp. The west side of it to be specific.
  23. I have a friend of a friend who ordered an AR10 (not sure what particular one) online and had it transferred to a NJ FFL. The FFL gave it to him after paperwork and all is well, rite? Not quite rite in my book... I dont think it was jersey legal. We told him to get that thing off the farm! So, my question is, if someone orders something that isnt jersey legal does the FFL have an obligation to refuse the transfer or does that fall entirely on the buyer? Ken
  24. We where shooting on private property. A farm to be specific. Regardless of where we shoot we clean up and I would imagine that most here will too. The mall ninja crowd is the biggest offender in this department. Ken
