  1. Joe what you said in this post is very important. TURN OFF THE MAIN BREAKER. If not you are sending 220v electric back out to the line, when it hit the transformer it flows backwards and it will than boost it to high voltage and the person working on the line can be KILLED. Also if the main breaker is not off when the city power comes back on and your generator is still running BOOM. Thats why and automatic transfer switch or and interlock is the way to go.
  2. Thats very good question Joe. The answer I got was no. The line isn't large enough to run a generator and your home. I would have needed another line and a meter. Thats another service charge every month.
  3. Take a real good look at this before you decide which is best. it not only the cost of the generator but the transfer switch, or interlock kit and install. . Size of the generator make a big difference in the cost of instilation, If you go with natural gas a new line is going to have to be run from the street to the Generator. permits are another issue. The bigger the generator the more expensive the install. I was told for a roof top unit here at Dairy Queen I would be looking at another $10,000 for install ontop of the cost of the generator. . Its a big investment. Take a look at what this guy did.
  4. I can run my house on 5,000 watts. No A/C. My hot water heater is gas. my stove is gas, and my heat is gas my wifes dryer is gas too. Thats the key if you don't need electric to run most appliances.
  5. I went with a portable one because of the price and if I have a problem with it I can always plug another one into my house. I have 2 of them, one for my house, one for my business.
  6. People should have expected this from the mayor. Remember when he sent undercover camera men to gun shows? Now he thinks he's J edgar Hoover
  7. All it would take is one Flyer and that guy is dead. This guy must be one hell of a salesman to talk the camera man into this and the students to shoot.
  8. Even the 1930s and the gangsters. They were a tame compared to today. Some back then went in and burned bank notes for the poor farmers
  9. In my town (Pt. Pleasant) the lady who types them up only works Tuseday and Wednesday. Last week she didn't show up for work. I have to find out what day is payday because she should be in to pick up her check.
  10. Some People should not own guns and some should not be police officers. Now some should not be training people either.
  11. If I were in that class I would have packed up and left.

  14. I went with a Generator. I'm done with power outages
  15. ADT hands down. I had others. one company I had set up camera's at my store so I could watch at home . one month later they went out of business. ADT is all I will use now.
  16. I agree I stay away from the range on weekends. Fri Sat and Sun are no goes for me.
  17. I feel your pain. I have to go and kiss some azz tomorrow too. Next week I'm at 8 weeks for something that should take no longer than 30 days. I wish the local police would just give this up to the state police if they can't get it done.
  18. I took one once. It landed right on top of my safety glasses. It hurts.
