    More Berettas

Beretta purists may mock me here, but my only Beretta is a PX4, bought when it was a new model. With the addition of a rubber slip on grip with a palm swell (the standard grip is long, narrow and flat-sided) the ergos fit my hand well, the action is good, it eats anything I feed it, and I shoot it more accurately than any semi-auto I own (my Ruger 1911 and CZ75 are very close). I have a Sig P227, workmanship and quality probably better than others, and I can't shoot that well for my life. I shot my buddy's 9mm (P226?) and it felt awesome in my hand, it's why I bought the P227, but I only put a mag through it. Shows that no pistol can fit and perform well in every hand, personal feel and fit is everything, and you can't tell handling it in a gun shop, you have to shoot a box through it.
  2. So much for "not to be infringed"...Jersey sucks.
  3. LOL, didn't notice the year, sorry to bother you!
  4. I have a 325 TR that I would be willing to trade, and a .44 mag would work for me. Revolver is in great shape, I've put very few rounds on it (maybe 500). I just don't shoot it as well as my other revolvers, which are SS and have longer barrels, which helps my shakiness. Dragged a couple pics in here, let's see if they stuck...
  5. Everything I said in my post was true, smart guy. Carry concealed and get caught in PA with a non-resident NH carry permit and you get arrested. I even quote the PA Reciprocity Agreement with NH that is published on the PA Attorney General Website. What part of that is too complicated for you to understand? Prove me wrong. Walk into the AG’s office in Harrisburg and show them your handgun and your non-resident NH permit and see if you can walk away. I never claimed the other states had non-resident CCW permits; I merely stated which states the PA Reciprocity agreements wording doesn’t specifically deny non-residents, and therefore I would need to investigate the easiest one to obtain. Thanks for doing my research for me! I stand by what I say…anyone that advocates PA carry with a non-resident NH permit is subjecting themselves or other gullible people to prosecution. That is irresponsible and indefensible. So I repeat: shut your pie hole.
  6. To back up my previous post, I quote the The Reciprocity Agreement between the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by and through the office of the Attorney General, and the State of New Hampshire by and through the Department of Safety. "Whereas the purpose of this Reciprocity Agreement is to extend reciprocal firearm concealed carry permit/license privileges to the Citizens of the State of New Hampshire and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Also, since I possess a Utah Concealed Carry Permit, I quote the PA Memorandum of Agreement between The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of Utah concerning Licensed Reciprocity for Concealed Carry: NOW, THEREFORE, the parties do agree as follows: 1. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall give full faith and credit to a valid Concealed Handgun License issued by the State of Utah to residents of the State of Utah; and,..." That is crystal clear and says it all. All you people that are trying to convince NJ residents that they are legal to conceal carry in PA with out-of-state permits from NH are wrong and suffer from terminal confirmation bias. This also applies to the reciprocity agreements with Utah, Florida, Virginia, and maybe West Virginia (there is some code reference that may reflect residency, wouldn't trust this state's out-of-state license). On the other hand, The PA agreement with Alaska contains no such residency requirement. Nor does the agreement of reciprocity for Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, maybe West Virginia (see above), and Wyoming. Look it up. Lot of misinformation on this topic, reading the actual PA reciprocity agreements with each state carefully, will show which state PA doesn't care if you are a resident of as long as you have a permit issued by that state. So unless one is willing to actually look at the legal PA reciprocity agreement for the state license they are trying to use, they should shut their pie hole and not convince naive people that they are legal when they may not be. That is reckless and irresponsible. Armed with this information, I will now investigate which of the above states with reciprocity agreements that PA does not specify residency requirement is the easiest to obtain. Blue1
  7. Has anyone here used LaserLyte training system? My handguns are mostly .45 ACP, so I found that laser cartridge and the target for about $200 shipped. My question is, when you load up the laser cartridge, how close to point of laser to point of actual impact? Can it be calibrated/zeroed in? It seems pointless to practice with something that provides a different point of impact indication then actual point of impact. Blue1
  8. A full size PX4 was my first semi-auto, chambered in .45 ACP. Mags in this caliber available in 8 (or is it 9?) and 10 rounds. Don't see the need for a compact unless you are going to carry, or if the full size doesn't fit the hand. For carry, I bought an XDS and seven round mags, giving me 7+1 of hard hitting .45 ACP.
  9. I had a PP extended in June in Hillsborough and used it shortly afterward. Just applied for two more, Hillsborough's policy is streamlined if you had one issued in the last year, no $18 record search charge, just $2 each when they are ready. I'm gonna just extend these two when they approach 90 days, then apply for two more shortly after so I always have some on hand and don't ever again have to pay that $18 records search...at least as long as Hillsborough keeps this policy. 10. I just watched the video to remove the two internal lock pieces. I was going to do this, but that big gap next to the trigger that occurs when the part is removed makes the possibility of foreign objects getting into the gun action and causing problems to be more likely than the lock engaging by itself. I will trust the lock. Blue1
  11. Range time? Free rental? Am I missing something here? Customer service ain't rocket science. Just give the man what you represented when he bought it, and the right thing to do would be let him keep the ten-rounders for his trouble.

    686 spring swaps

OK, I investigated and see that is not the case. It seems it would make sense not to remove the hammer block, but I think I am going to remove the lock, don't see any advantages to keeping it, can always reinstall if needed.
