  1. Today @ 1pm was a mad house. I had to wait for 1 hour.. Still 3 lanes.. they decided to build the tables on the far end first.. WTH?!? The electrician was a busy bee the others doing the tables were sitting for the most part as they got like 5 up.. There installing lighting and cameras to keep an eye on things on the benches for safety concerns..
  2. I painted my last AR 308 stock and PG and lets say it didn't last long in spots with sweat.. I'm undecided.. I may end up getting a FDE MOE Pistol Grip and MOE Stock..
  3. Heres a few more pics showing some detail..
  4. I did my 308 AR last spring in desert scheme.. had the paint here.. I went OD first this time, then lighter with browns, coyote, tans.. Now I won't mind scratching the $190 rail as much..
  5. I used Aerovoe paint and OD Krylon.. Some scrunchies, mesh, pine tree branches, etc.. indoor with flash.. Figured good day for painting.. and went and did it.. Stock, PG, MBUS, Trigger, Safety, Bolt-Catch, & CH.. all still black..
  6. Had this happen with my G30 back in 2003 with bad frame.. after 4 weeks Glock sent me one with a prefix in front of the SN.. Luckily I was on good terms with the secretary in my former NJ township.. had it in 2 days..
  7. The weight balances right on the front pivot pin area.. the rail is pretty solid feeling.. its 13.4oz (per the Troy rep 2 weeks back..) I measured it today for another forum thread.. its 43.5mm (1.71") in diameter where you would grab it.. The VTAC Alpha are about $15 less then the Troy Alpha.. so vertical slots over holes for $15-20 less works for me.. IMHO.. The Midwest 15" SS model is lighter at like 9-11oz.. but I don't like the feeling of holding a soup can in my hand.. (I did one for a customer down south after I did mine).. it was also wider in girth.. << pic of that build with DD LW 14.5" Barrel
  8. I 'broke-in' with a brand new BCG and just let her rip.. I wiped the BCG after the initial outing last weekend.. I just boresnaked and wiped the BCG down yesterday.. no fuss or muss.. at around 500 rounds I'll take apart the BCG and inspect the rings and such.. Thnx Ray Ray...
  9. I sold the TRS25 last week as the overall optic 'tube' was too small IMHO.. Heres Evil with the new MOE stock.. Heres today at 100 yards with the MagPul MBUS set while kneeling.. just about a 6" group.. (low and left..). I was aiming low & mid-section.. Using Wolf WPA 55gr FMJ and 55gr HP ammo.. I also got another clay and a 16" water bottle at 100 yards too.. I need to 'bag it' and set it up though.. I was helping my in-law and a friend today zero there AR's, and 45 minutes is not enough.. I also clipped a gallon milk jug at 150 yards 6x with it.. while kneeling.. Now at 290 rounds with 0 issues..
  10. Got there at 7:25 and got lane 1 on the rifle side.. Heres a pic of the rifle side.. notice the benchs laying there.. wonder how long thats going to take..
  11. I was there at 7:40 and there were 4 people in front of me for rifle.. there was a TON of people behind me.. The good news I saw some guys putting the bench pieces on the slab for possible assembly.. The fog rolled in early and I was fine with leaving knowing they wouldn't strart on time at 8:30 today with that fog.. lol.. I'll try tommorrow morning.. and get there at 7:20.. lol
  12. Yes. with a pin/weld.. I dunno.. FSC556 is GTG with pin/weld. **ETA.. the document they link to from the SM556 page says FSC556 specifically and not the SM556..
  13. Finally got my MOE Stock so they match... The MOE Team.
  14. SG won't ship AR barrels to NJ either. AIM wants an NJ FID car on file.. (other places too). Surplus Ammo and Arms won't ship to NJ.. some other places won't ship collapsible stocks to NJ...
  15. PA CCP is valid till expiration even if you move.. unless you violate something that would void it. (what I was told (by Bucks County Sheriffs office) when I lived in NJ with a Centre County PA CCP and wanted to get one in Bucks County when I moved to PA bacl in 2004)..
  16. The AR clamshell for upper ($48) is for AR15 uppers (that are not billet) (some billet uppers have odd angles).. Other wise you would need a CLAW (about same cost) that goes thru the takedown pins.. Most go with forged AR uppers.. unless you want something special and $$$.. difference in cost on the AR uppers is $70-300.. You would need a BARREL wrench $30 and again thats for standard AR barrel nuts.. The AR lower is roll pin punches, blue tape, visegrips, small hammer..1/4" clevis pin from HDepot (or razor blade) and PATIENCE.. I did Saiga conversions (4) for myself 2 years back.. I used a drill, dremel, and hammer for that.. gotta love AK's..
  17. Correct.. that or a match barrel with 223 WYLDE chamber which can also run 556 ammo.. Just a note that ALOT of places sell loose barrels.. Palmetto, Midway, BCM, Spikes, DSG.. then you just need to find an upper receiver, BCG (bolt carrier group), gas tube, and some other things.. You need a special vise block/claw for like $55 and some type of barrel wrench $25-30 to tighten the barrel nut properly with a torque wrench.. Places like ADCO and others can assemble all the parts at a cost if you run into a jam or realize you can't afford all the tools for a possible 1x usage.. or the welding end of it (if needed)..
  18. 1/7 twist gives more bullet GR variety then a 1/9 twist will. Some match barrels are 1/8. 16" or 14.5" would be fine.. 14.5" requires a pin/welded Comp/Brake.. but since you in NJ you need that (pin/weld) done anyway on any AR barrel with threads.. There are post-ban barrels with no threads and that would work also.. 223 in 5.56 chamber is GTG.. but NOT 5.56 in 223 chamber..
  19. Your local PD in NJ are going to tell you to get a NJ license and NJFID. (don't mention to the PD the part about ability to buy firearms in PA easier) as your LIVING in NJ.
  20. Suggest joining a local NJ range near your house.. sent you a PM with other info..
  21. You should (to be safe) get a NJ FID card and DL since you live in NJ now. Travel to and from range without un-necessary stops will kill you in NJ.. Leave firearms at your PA residence in a SAFE in the basement.. and be done.. I'm not an expert and not giving ANY advise on this matter other than the underlined sentence.
  22. I've owned 2 Sig 228's over the years and they just FEEL solid.. I sold them both a few years back I own the Sig Pro SP2022 in 9mm currently.. (I got that over the .40 cal version as that had issues as noted on several forums.) I paid $379 and $30 for the extra mag.. Then the same week some guy on the Sig forums or GB (I forget) had two 10 round mags for like $30 shipped for both (both new).. I couldn't say no to that deal.. About 450+ rounds with 0 issues.. I like the ability to decock the hammer without to much worry.. I practice in DA/SA mode for the 1st shot.. then obviously SA mode for the rest of the mag.. then do it again.. Its my carry item in PA and when I do security in PA also. its GTG for me into a 6" target at 7 yards.. smooth trigger than the trigger just clicks/falls/breaks.. The newer semi-auto's of which are DA only-ish I don't think I'd like.. ETA** I also got the 2022 vs. 250 model because the 250 model is BLOCKY from the muzzle end view.
  23. My pistol.. um. I don't remember cleaning that from last fall... My AR's I go and shoot and come home.. every other range trip I clean them just to check the BCG parts.. I run a boresnake and call it done.. My new build had 160 rounds of mix brass and Wolf ammo.. I just wiped the BCG and Q-tip'd the chamber.. I'll clean that AFTER the next range trip.. My Saiga AK's I use to have were rarely cleaned unless I was running corrosive surplus ammo.. Most issues were in the piston tube near the gas block where the crud would sit.. (bottle brush helps).. So.. every other outing for most of mine.. but its a wipe, Q-Tip, and boresnake..
  24. just ordered 2 Spikes Middy barrels and 2 Spike Carbine barrels for the shop to have on-hand.
