so RN 230 grain is better than the H&G 68 for a revolver, currently I use the 200 and 185 lswc several of the mail order makers (swaged and hard cast) , didn't think the RN would be that good. Is it just for ease of loading with a moon clip. I have also experimented with Matts 165gr full WC for revolver loading light for old 1917 s&w. thanks

NH non-resident CCW / Carry in PA
revenger replied to Carcano's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
now is the time for all pro 2a associations across the country to push for a TRUE reciprocity. Time to start writing all 2a / constitutional politicians to get this moving as we may only have 2 years, the reciprocity must include and recognize states like ours that do not abide by the constitution. it should also very clearly define that a "gun free" zone can not arbitrarily be instituted by local, county or states. sappa lawsuit needs to start moving along as well and be wary of Obama trying to settle before he leaves office. -
NH non-resident CCW / Carry in PA
revenger replied to Carcano's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
looks like the enemy has won the AG's office in PA so unless trump passes national carry we will probably lose our rights with NH in PA. -
Was thinking about casting my own .45acp bullets LSWC ( I can get as many old wheel weights as I need) I have never done this and would like to know what exactly do I need, I'm guessing a melting pot correct molds and handle sizer and a way to lube them. anyone recommend anything else and how to do it. Thanks

I'VE OFFICIALLY BEGUN ROAD TO BEING A RELOADER!
revenger replied to gleninjersey's topic in Ammunition & Reloading
reloading is the best way to go and is really fun developing your loads, I started about 35 years ago when I was in the army. loaded .38 special the old fashioned way with a old tong tool, not sure what brand but it is nickel plated. ammo worked but was not as good as I make them now. still have my set of tong tools with all my old lyman dies that fit in them. started to advance to some of them new fangled progressive models and have always gone back to my faithful O frame RCBS making one at a time, seem to spend more time trying to set up a progressive and clearing jams than actually loading. -
Yes, many of these modern gadgets are well outside of FCC part 15 requirements. The FCC really does not care about the harmful interference they generate to ham radio (they don't even care about harmful interference to public safety frequencies either). Locating the source in your own house is "fairly" easy using the on/off breaker method. keep in mind you will have to run reduced power with an antenna inside your attic. also there are other factors involved that determine which direction that a dipole radiates or your end fed wire . nearby objects, height above ground, soil conditions . Not sure what radio you are using but I had to get one (ten-tec Omni 7) with a independent RX antenna port so I could run my loop for RX to minimize locally generated interference. I have it on a rotator at about 6' off the ground this way I can turn it to nullify the neighbors cheap crappy gadgets. TX from the B&W or BTV vertical .

law for purchasing ar15 stripped lowers.

so do any of the FFl's on this site have any in stock. would like to buy a few before the election. -
any indoor HF antenna usually picks up too much of the local crap being generated by all the modern electronic stuff in your house. I tried it once at my old house and it was just too noisy. I have a 6meter dipole in the attic but when I Tx it affects to many things in the house. I also scared the crap out of my son because when he was about 6 and heard the SSB audio coming out of the computer speakers from the 6m he thought it was an alien or something. Now I use a pixel magnetic loop for Rx and a B&W end fed wire for Tx as well as the 6BTV . I have the Wellbrook loop too but I like the pixel because of the relay that turns off the amplifier during Tx. Pixel magnetic loop and a R390a is so quiet that I have to turn knobs just to make sure radio is still working.

I think the 2 weeks would apply if your father is the police chief or governor, short of that its just like applying as if you are new to the sport.

Do any of the gun shops in NJ keep lowers in stock. how do you go about buying them. and if you buy multiple lowers at one time do you only pay for 1 nics check? -

.38 special accuracy in .357
revenger replied to revenger's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
should have mentioned it will be in a revolver, looking for a .38 target gun and was thinking of possibly making it a .357 to get the versatility. Older model guns as well, colt, smith -
Anyone know if there are any accuracy issues shooting .38 special in a .357 or any negative chamber issues.

NJ FID/PP Compliancy Project
revenger replied to Maksim's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
does anyone know how winslow twp is on change of address and permit time? thanks -
"If these cops are forced to retire because of age" I was thinking the exact same thing. If troopers are forced to retire at age 55 and than how is it possible to be eligible to work in a profession the "might" require the exact response they are forced to retire at 55 for? These jobs are going to be just like all the sheriffs, prosecutors, and other post career jobs that are CREATED just for them.

This is just one of the reasons us ordinary citizens in NJ will not see a constitutionally allowed firearm carry process. Most people not familiar with how a NJ law enforcement officers career goes does not realize that the last 15 or so years on the job is spent job prospecting for their post LE job such as making the connections with vendors and such. This now gives an entire job only to a certain group of people and excludes all others based on the fact that ordinary citizens in NJ can't get a simple carry permit. Being that this is a public job the positions should be open to ANY qualified American citizen who is mentally and physically fit to perform the job. These are only security guard jobs, NOT law enforcement, a prospective candidate need not know any title 39 statues to do the job. how many prior military service members who are not LE will be eligible? Crazy politicians are only part of the reason we don't have RTC here, The LE community knowing that these post career jobs are only available to them will always deny our ability to obtain a license to carry in order to protect these "RPO" positions. These positions will just be another patronage pit among the many in this state .

A friend of mine is an old car collector, One of his old Packard's has a condition common to many old cars with the fuel gauge indicator. the float in the tank moves a lot due to the old style tanks I suppose. it causes the indicator on the dash to sway up and down as well while making turns and such. We were wondering if there is a circuit that can be added across the gauge to dampen the voltage fluctuations so it reads steady yet still gives a accurate level of fuel on the indicator. I was thinking about something with a capacitor and resistor with a time constant that discharges the cap slow enough to keep the gauge at a steady level yet quick enough indicate the fuel level going down. It is a 12 volt positive ground system. Thanks

who owns NJ CC permit info?
revenger replied to Newtonian's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I would like to see EXACTLY what was their justifiable need and why did the judges and police chiefs not deny them. The names are not as important as we all have a pretty good idea of who they are but if you can link a name to JN that might turn some heads. for example what did sweeny put for his JN? and if I were to use the exact words as he did would I be denied and if so how would a court handle that appeal. Sweeny has also recently made enemies with the NJ law enforcement community so what would happen if his local police chief denied him when its time for his renewal. -
need advice on Dollywood/Pigeon forge area
revenger replied to revenger's topic in General Discussion
Thanks to all who responded, we got back a few weeks ago and it was a good trip. we did all the things recommended, clingmans dome, Dixie stampede, Dollywood park and splash park although didn't have time for gun shops. Gatlinburg was very crowded and lots of traffic but a place to at least drive through and see once. after 4 days there we headed to Nashville and went to all the sights there, I always liked country music from my young days listening to station WHN 1050 back in the early 70's so Nashville was nice. the strip they call "honkytonk row" was interesting , wish we had something like that around here. I was amazed at the amount of construction going on in Nashville, large cranes building big buildings all over. was also amazed at the cleanliness of the highways we took ( rt 81 to rt40) hardly any old truck tires or other debris to be seen. also almost all establishments have no guns allowed signs on their entrance doors, wording seems to make it a crime if your caught. thanks to all who responded -
I have Racial Prejudice..... Do you as well?
revenger replied to AVB-AMG's topic in General Discussion
The word "racist" is a media buzzword used to intimidate elected officials and public figures. I always correct anyone who throws that word out there without checking their "backstop" and tell them to use the words "ethnically aware" in its place. -
