  1. As some of you have read the articles coming from D.C. on their insane albeit new gun laws, Emily Miller is that reporter from the Washington Times that was robbed and eventually decided to purchase a firearm. She went through the process, documenting all the way and posting her updates to her paper. Sharing the frustrations that DC residents are facing to purchase a gun. She has made landmark strides in getting the city council to repeal some of the more ridiculous stipulations (eye test, pre-ownership ballistics cataloging, 5 hr class) Take a look at a few of her vids, like her FB or Twitter page and show her bosses that her reporting on 2A gets ratings and hits home for American Citizens. Ohh and mind you there is 1 certified FFL in DC and his fee for transfer is $125. http://www.facebook....illerDC?sk=wall https://twitter.com/#!/emilymiller http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UgY7WdYgHU
  2. That's interesting... Less than lethal beats explaining to the cops the perp with the hole in his chest, but again, this is NJ so anything is possible and they'll try to EFFF you any chance they get.
  3. Just like how the ccw law has been sitting around and not reviewed in committee for the past 3-5 years.
  4. Now also available in the restrooms of the SCOTUS, Congress, and State Level Government facilities.
  5. Its funny that you can be charged with a misdemeanor for someone else overreacting to a perfectly legal walk to your car with a gun. I can understand if they were to call the cops because it would seem suspicious for these parts (god forbid that same gun toting guy shoots up a business later) but once intent was discovered by arriving officers it should be left at that.
  6. Just came across for those that like to venture into custom modding/painting their goodies http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/showthread.php?191847-Dyeing-AR15-Furniture-%28tutorial%29
  7. Winchester Ranger JHPs for $4 off per box. Normally 24 for a box of 50 are now $20. 5 dollar shipping option still available for orders over $99 http://www.cabelas.com/product/Winchester-Ranger-Handgun-Ammunition/1084985.uts?WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104792580
  8. That is one awesome flag stock..I might have to revisit this when I build.
  9. OK got it. Now if your neighbor happens to have a shooting range on his property... would he need to be a licensed range for it to be legit? = ) Im not looking to circumvent any laws by the way. Just curious as to how deep the nj gun law rabbit hole goes =)
  10. Just mulling over situations and gun laws pertaining to them.Im curious particularly in carrying a firearm on your property and going to your neighbors house (with his or her consent). Is it still legal to leave your property and head over to his? Since such scenario isnt explicitly spelled out I would like some insight. In the same vicinity as the first question. I know the castle doctrine only covers you protecting yourself or your family within the confines of your own residence, but if the scenario above played out to be legit, if your neighbor was being attacked outside of his home would I be committing a crime if I drew my firearm as a deterrent to the aggressor committing the assault? The last statement is kind of a loaded one being I know the implications of potential escalation and that I would not be legally protected if I harmed the attacker by means of a firearm. However if the assailant is using some sort of object as a weapon, and attempt to restrain the individual by hand would be out of the question, would I be within my legal right to wield the firearm with the sole intent to cease the attack? Thanks.
  11. That would be a great solution if a safe is not a possibility. If you are going to get it for free and understand that a grab and go scenario would be difficult, spend money on a good lock. Job boxes are pretty heavy duty steel, but remember a means of security is only as strong as its weakest link. I would research more robust locks to prevent potential theft or tampering. Spending $40-60 on a lock that will keep ANYONE out would be well worth it. If you're set on a combo lock they make upgraded ones, as they do with keyed locks.
  12. I have had great success with Guardian Protection Services. Their salesman did a more thorough inspection and recommendation of the residence to suggest sensor/contact placement. More affordable for more sensors and contacts then ADT. The pluses are their wireless service (no landline needed or in the event of tampering) upgrade for voice panel option (to speak with operator when in trouble) and less expensive hardware costs. I spent $750 on hardware that got me two motion sensors for 1st floor and basement, glass breaks in all pertinent 1st floor rooms,, three door contacts, and a smoke detector. They haggle on price for hardware.. the monitoring is between $40-45 (+$3 fees/tax) a month depending on if you want the voice option. (5 yr min contract required) Have them over for a consult vs ADT like I did, I reckon you'll find out who's the better outfit = ) and if you go that route... hook a brother up and get me a free month!
  13. 2nd child has died. one still critical and another in stable condition.
  14. Wife liked this one.. but youd have to buy the sig and send it out to be customized http://www.tjscustomgunworks.com/Photos1/PinkBlack.htm
  15. I think he's referring to the Military round that is illegal for civilians to own. It is presumed by the ATF to be armor piercing. Im guessing thats the ballistics round that did exceptional.
  16. Yes... point this end AWAY from you.
  17. While I agree that we can learn from these tragedies and work on preventing them in the future, I CANNOT understand WHY the media exposes the personal findings of the shooter. These children are bullied, they are the same type that ponder suicide, and would do harm to others when pushed to the psychological breaking point. The media is giving what everyone of these mentally abused souls what they want. They want to be noticed, they want to get everyone's attention. From Columbine to present disturbed kids know if they want to make a statement, they can get themselves on TV post death for everyone to see by shooting up those that have done the most harm. Keep their identities from the breaking news reports, DO NOT allow their pictures, their stories to be on the front page of every newspaper the next morning. Give them the attention they wanted, and the next kid in the same circumstance will follow suit. You wont stop school shootings from happening, but your glorifying the act to those looking for that same attention and retribution by a society and his/her peers that have shunned them. /rant
  18. Is the safe just to store from children/people in your home, or for general firearm security? From a personal perspective, I am leery of locking any firearm in anything that doesn't have at least 1 if not 2 lag bolts into a wall/floor. My opinion and not to be confused with other suitable means for firearms storage.
