What's odd is another person in my family applied one day after I did, for an initial fid and permit, and has already received them. Same town.
-
That's what I'm hoping for. I'm over in freehold. They are usually pretty good.
-
I applied for permits in late Jan. 1/21. As of yesterday, still nothing in the mail. Last year when I applied for permits, took me like 16 days. Anyone else been waiting a while in Monmouth County? (I know others have been waiting for much longer in other parts of the state, I just feel this is longer for nourishing county)

Gonna head out there. Looking for ammo, some ammo cans and other odds and ends. PM me if anyone wants to meet up!

Everyone who's calling for the cops... Remember that when you're complaining about NJ gun laws. You are perpetuating the phobia of firearms in NJ. Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

I didn't know what to expect when I first got my 12ga scatter gun. I was expecting to have to see an orthopedic surgeon to reattach my skinny arms... After my first time out with my 870, I fell in love. It's all about form and the right ammo IMHO. #8 target loads are very easy shooting. For the lady, get some reduced recoil #1 buck. My 2 cents for what it's worth... Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

Here's a good video to show any antis on the reality that guns do in fact save lives. The videos are hard to dispute. There's even one where one of the would-be robbers appears to be armed with some sort of MSR or AK-type rifle. Why do I need an AR as a law-abiding citizen? Because I will not be underpowered when evil pays a visit.

Thanks for the replies everyone! So I think I'm going to look at these guns in no particular order : G21 Sig 227 M&P45 1911 w/ 10 rnd mags Those seem to be among the "available" firearms right now. I'd love to check out the HK45, but that o ring has me sketched out... Anyone have any experience with it? What happens if you lose it? Sent from my HTC One X+ using Tapatalk 2

So I have 2 permits coming my way. I currently own a G19. Looking to get something in 45ACP. I'd prefer to get something that can accept mags with a bit higher round count, in the unfortunate event that these idiots pass anything. I do like Glock, but I am open to anything. I know 1911s are the defacto choice for 45acp, but I'd like something with at least 10 +1. Looking to spend around 1k or less. Any help would be awesome.

Lets see your Dog aka 1st line of defense for some...

I have 2 mutts. Both are SUPER protective until we give the all clear. Each weighs about 65lbs -
I guess the concern is, he will call fish and game and it will take forever for them to do something. Is it illegal to dispatch a coyote on private land if its acting unusually (rabies is the concern, although I've told him is rare to see a coyote with rabies) Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2

So my friend has a coyote lurking around his property. His wife says she saw it a number of times hanging around their yard/driveway. (their land backs up to a large park) It apparently has been acting very weird and making kills (rabbits/squirrels/rodents) near the house. If he were to see it on the land acting funny...does he: A) Call F&W and wait around B)Shoot the thing with a .22 or shotgun. What would you do in this situation? He's worried something will happen to his dogs when they go out.

Assembly members: To put it simply, I was disgusted at the way the Public Safety committee meeting yesterday was conducted. You were clearly uninterested in paying attention to anyone who opposed your agenda. I've grown tired of your do as I say, not as I do attitude. You work for ME! I have one simple question. Why do you think its ok for you to carry a weapon or be protected by armed guards, but not for me and my family? I am urging you to say you've made a big mistake and vote no when those bills come up in the full Assembly. If not, I will fight feverishly to vote you out in November.

I said: "Hello, I wanted to follow up with your office regarding an email I sent this week opposing the measures being brought up in tomorrow's Public Safety committee hearing"......DIAL TONE. Called back..."I think we got disconnected I just called...." DIAL TONE!!! I AM LIVID. -

“We Democrats are sick and tired of Republicans constantly using the Constitution to cover up their true plans, which are to make us all afraid of everyone else. Our great president came from a civilized part of the country where there is strict gun control, and he is only trying to bring the benefits of that more modern way of living to the rest of us. I don’t know the exact statistics, but I’m quite certain that Chicago is a lot safer that Morehead City, when it comes to gun violence. But do Republicans and conservatives listen to the voice of reason? No, of course not. All they want to do is whine and complain about how gun control and wealth redistribution violate the Constitution, as if the Constitution were all that great, anyway. There are a lot of things that need to be changed about the Constitution, I’d say, and President Obama needs to change it.” PROUD TO BE A DEMOCRAT, carolinacoastonline.com via TTAG
