  1. I've seen only one female RO there, but only once. I would say she is attractive. She didn't hover over me.
  2. A bit of misunderstanding here. There are no paying customers. No customers at all. Int's not a business. There are no customer service reps. It's a club run by members for their convenience. If something is wrong at YOUR club, it's your duty as member to bring it up next meeting and find a way to fix it. Perhaps have it done yourself if it's important to you. So, there is a female member who came today for the work weekend (all good members expected to come this weekend). Maybe she came to paint something or to administer whatever. She may or may not be related to club officials. Unhappy dtown223 runs into her offering suggestions about website and "hotline" etc. Gets HER attitude. town223, just out of curiosity, do you have reasons to believe she wasn't just average "old school" member who stopped by the club to use restroom and grab coffee? The work weekend was mentioned to me more than once by ROs during last few weeks. It was on the website and printed in the mailer. Don't get me wrong, I'm member for few months and I see plenty of things that could be improved at Cherry Ridge. They need new young blood. Someone actually has to take action from inside. But who is going to do it?
  3. I was planning to come today, but few days ago checked range schedule and it said "work weekend". Looks like now they have updated website starting from Tuesday. I've seen some attitude there, mostly from elderly (70+) people. I don't think those are employees. I got pissed few times until I've realized: it's not a Range, it's a Club. I believe they have very few paid employees, most of the people hanging there are volunteers or just other members. So, there is no much customer service involved. As a club member you have range/kitchen/bathroom privileges. That's it. For less than $20/month it's a great deal (vs $15-$30/hour). I use 3 ranges. 1. Bullet Hole. Close to me and allow 30 min sessions. If I'm close to home and have 1 hour of free time, I can get home, pack the bag, get to BH, make 50-100 holes in the paper, come back home and be on my way. 2. Gun for Hire. State of the art range - feels good to be there. If I feel like I need some advise, I go to GFH for free instruction. Those ROs standing back are not just for decoration, they are watching you and seem to know thing or two about shooting. When I ask what I'm doing wrong, one of them always tells me exactly how to improve. And it works. Also you can grab coffee and some food without becoming a criminal. 3. Cherry Ridge. It's a day trip, at least 5-7 hours. Fresh air is always good. Few hours at the pistol range + few hours at 100 and 200/300. If you like to shoot a rifle - that is the place to be. Feel free to use their kitchen, just leave it clean.
  4. There is one on Gunbroker for $1175 If I would like to spend this kind of money, I would go with new model.
  5. This could be the reason why your wealthy family friend suggested I set up a 529b plan, just do as he said, IMO. https://www.njbest.com/about-njbest/gift-and-estate-options.html
  6. Yeah, than it will be closed most of the time
  7. Best deal I've seen for a while. Wolf 9mm 115 Grain FMJ 250 rounds 25c/round at SportsmansSuide $60.79/250 for members $63.99/250 for non members http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/russian-wolf-9mm-115-grain-fmjbt-250-rounds.aspx?a=55612 Use coupon for free shipping: SH559
  8. Yes, padding is good and over all quality is surprisingly good as far as I can tell. Much better than case I bought for $45 in LGS. Also it's kind of discrete (minus small black Blackhawk label). The only minus I can see is absence of pockets. But it has plenty of room for inside attachments.
  9. My AK-74 with welded muzzle brake is 37in - fits fine, just a little angle . I put converted Saiga 223 or AR-15 on another side and it works OK.
  10. just got it quality case with room for 2 rifles shipping is very quick
  11. Welcome to the Soviet Union in 50s. How dares some parent to question school superintendent?
  12. As far as I know it's you CAN make a right turn, not must.
  13. I would disagree. 3 things can be done: 1. Improve mental health system. 2. Stop glorifying mass shootings in mass media. 3. Remove gun free zones. Would it guarantee 100% positive outcome? No, but once we have institutionalized those in need and mass media stops producing celebrities freak "heroes" - chances for mass shootings will go down. Freaks will go out more traditional attention grabbing ways (bridges and tall buildings). Gun free zones don't need explanation, it's obvious.
  14. It's a BS poll, built to customer's needs and impossible to verify. Who has landline anymore and actually picking it up when it rings? What is "cell phone household" anyway?
  15. Could be something related to this: http://eagletonpollblog.wordpress.com/ Anyone got a call?
  16. On this forum? I've tried all searches I could imagine and found nothing.
  17. Odds are close to zero and even if it happens there is no real danger. Something similar. Mythbusters - Bullets Thrown Onto Campfire - Are They Lethal? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OAK2dDQ-S4Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
