GOV CHRISTIE CALLS 2PM NEWS CONF TODAY
NoThanksImOut replied to iRescue's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I honestly think that Christie's approach to gun control is to fly under the radar and do nothing because (1) he wants a run at President, and (2) he's a Republican in a primarily Democratic state. However, just because that's what he thinks, doesn't mean that's what will happen because... ....whoever has the money has the power. So yes, something is going on, and right now it would seem that the exceptionally rich in certain states are not interested in the peons having firearms (see: NY.) -

You've made it obvious you're just ranting or venting and don't actually want to engage in a discussion, so I will gladly move on from any posts you make. Good day sir. -

Not quite sure where I'm being politically correct, but you're welcome to point it out. Stereotyping is counter-productive to either side's argument. -

You do realize you sound exactly like how the extreme left talks about gun owners, right? 'Whacked out rednecks hopped up on alcohol with their assault rifles' This mindset on either side is exactly the problem. The stereotyping needs to stop. -

SureFire -- Reducing Staff and Cutting Production
NoThanksImOut replied to this_is_nascar's topic in General Discussion
I also think Surefire is out of touch with the enthusiast light market. They make basic, reliable duty lights but flashaholics want more. With that said, my 870 has a Maelstrom MM-X Neutral on it and I am quite happy with it. -
Get hands on with both. The M9 is for large hands or long fingers and I find it very comfortable after adding the Hogue wrap-around grip. If you end up liking both, then all I have to say is welcome to the disease. There is no cure.

"Lucky" to Live in NJ?
NoThanksImOut replied to PDM's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Googling for NY 7 round magazine was not giving me anything. Daily news has a story, and this site seems pretty obviously anti. Because the entire country is NY and NJ? I have no idea what you're getting at. They will still be able to sell their mags for a profit most likely. Just look at glock mags on gunbroker. Like I said, 7 round limit is bull, I'm not defending it, but they will be able to unload those mags in no time at all. -

Can someone provide a link please? The only good news is they will likely not have any financial loss because of the buying spree in the rest of the country. I bet some make money on their magazines. Regardless, 7 rounds is total bull. -
My vote is S&W or Springfield for a 1911. As for picking a polymer, striker-fired 9mm, the best thing you can do is go hold and/or shoot them all. I can shoot Glock, S&W M&P, and Springfield XDs just fine, but the M&P is the most comfortable in my hand. If you're looking for a metal 9mm then I'd suggest a Beretta 92FS or Sig P226. Really though, there's so many 9mm handguns that it's mostly personal preference on what feels comfortable, what you shoot the best, and what you like the look of.

I think it's cool of them to limit it to 1 case. It lets people that just like to shoot here and there not get their fun ruined by the hoarders.

I'm just confused how that tiny bird is in two, but the tiger is completely gone. It's like the difference between a LAW and a 50 cal.

Having recently compared some different subs/pockets, there's something you might want to keep in mind regarding the PX4 sub. It's thicker and heavier than all of it's polymer competition, and very close in weight to a small 1911. In LxHxW, the PX4 Sub is 6.2x4.8x1.4 weighing 26.1oz, the MP9c is 6.7x4.3x1.2 weighing 21.7oz and a Glock 26 is 6.54x4.17x1.18 weighing 19.75oz. A Sig 1911 Ultra Compact is 6.8x4.8x1.4 weighing 28oz. Just some thoughts. In the end, it's personal preference. It is short, I'll give it that.

In the market for a Durable 22 lr semi-auto pistol
NoThanksImOut replied to Bubba-NJ's topic in Rimfire Pistols & Rifles
The first 22 that comes to mind when you mention durability is Browning's 1911-22. -
I reached out to a few places, and got my hands on the CM9, Nano, and Glock 26 in one place. Unfortunately, the CM9 and Nano are too narrow for my long fingers, so now I am glad I did not buy any of these sight unseen. I imagine this eliminates the Shield which is only 0.05" thicker, so apparently I solved this problem easier than I thought. Thanks for the posts guys. The Glock is an adequate size, but I prefer the angle/shape of the M&P.

Just Got an E-Mail from the White House

Am I reading it wrong, or did they just say that mental health is a serious issue (agree), and that most gun owners are responsible, law-abiding citizens (agree), but they're going to work on banning guns anyway? (ugh) We definitely need to work on the stigma of mental health in this country, and I feel that passing something that is merely pandering to anti-gun people is a step backwards in educating people on the real problem. -
This is what I have experienced since becoming a firearms owner. I have two close friends who are liberal on most issues except guns. One constantly rips on NJ's absurd restrictions, even with regards to hunting. Another who I know is a staunch conservative and is very religious, believes that guns have no purpose in existing and should be removed, everywhere. The old mindset of "libtards gunna take 'er guns," really doesn't apply to the general population in my experience. I find that most people I talk to have varying opinions per-issue that don't fall squarely into the left or the right.
