  1. I went to Shore Shot for the first time last week. My original plans got cancelled and I had nothing else to do at 8 on Saturday night so I drove down (45 minutes). The staff were friendly, price is fair ($20/hr +$2 for targets). Range was well lit, A/C'd, distances well marked, stapler for hanging targets at each port and RO was on top of some fools rapid firing. Overall good experience (except my shooting sucked, but that's another story).
  2. Forget Name/SSN. He already has his FID, which means he has a unique SBI # attached to his fingerprints and should be the primary identifier. Sounds like somebody really effed up.
  3. That's great looking wheelgun. A Ruger Blackhawk, 6.5" in .41mag is on my list for just this purpose. Planning on doing my first handgun hunt next (2014) deer season.
  4. http://www.newjerseyhunter.com/ lots of info there. Also, talk to your friends, co-workers, etc. You're bound to find someone who either hunts or has a relative/friend who does. I thought I knew zero hunters until I started asking around, turns out I know about a half-dozen and have hunted with two of them so far.
  5. I saw a guy get PTI for illegal possession. He was legal in his home state and only traveling through NJ. FOPA didn't apply b/c the gun was loaded, within reach of the driver. The all too common "I thought NJ was part of America" mistake. I don't get why they gave this guy PTI, though. He not only bought the guns illegally, but then turned around and sold them (also illegally, one would presume). And the SLEO; wtf was he thinking? Illegally sells guns, then tells his dept? And his excuse is "I asked for the proper paperwork, like a lot", like it was out of his hands. lol. That dude is "special" in more ways than one.
  6. Based on what I currently own: Wilderness survival- pump shotgun & .357 revolver Urban unrest- pump shotgun, hacksaw & 9mm semi What I'd really want: Wilderness- AR-7 & scoped Super Redhawk 44mag, 7" Urban- AR-15 w/ 30 round mags & FN90

    Muzzle Crown Damage?

Looks like I haven't been proactive enough with cleaning the barrel. Upon closer inspection, there's a moderate amount of copper fouling (possibly lead too). Time to get a bore light. Thanks for the advice.

That's who I picked. Rick did my last transfer. Not just a good price, but good guy to deal with.

You're the man. Just bought it.
  11. Hey guys, My GP100's been shooting wide right. After last my range trip, I looked closely at the muzzle and I seems that the lower left (when looking at the business end) may be damaged, as in the lands/grooves are missing. Thoughts?
  12. I'm not into caliber debates (honestly). However, I've heard nothing bad about the .327 mag except for availability.
  13. (reposting from the other GP thread) http://www.adventureoutdoors.us/revolvers-c-461_102_107.html?page=2&sort=2a&sort=2a&filter_id=43 They've got 4" in .327 Fed magnum and 6" .357 in stainless and blue ($519 for the blued)
  14. Mason: My understanding is that all juvenile matters are handled by the Superior Court's Family Division, never municipal court. That means your record will be at the county courthouse in Paterson, not Clifton Municipal. Here's the contact info http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/passaic/records.htm Good luck

  16. Same. Except sometimes it's her money too. My birthday, anniversary, holiday gifts are all guns or gun-related.
  17. If you check the discount sites regularly (kygunco, kittery trading post, buds, etc) they'll have one or two GPs @ decent prices occasionally. My hunting buddy picked up a 3" for $570 or $580, shipped plus $40 transfer (truvalue in Lincoln Park). Rick at OMG in Bayyone and Precision Gun Coating in Edison charge $35 for transfers.
  18. Was it local? Recent? Price? If I found one of those when I had the $ and a P2P (or the SP101 in .327) I might finally be motivated enough to start reloading (win win)
  19. Not charging the guy, if that's the sheriff's call in that jurisdiction, is not the issue. The problem is in the destruction/altering of paperwork. That's big deal.
  20. Would the prices I quoted seem more meaningful to you if I told you I was responding to the OP's question: "How expensive are 44 special under normal market conditions?" and as a follow-up to GRIZ's post: "I'd say the cheapest 44 spl was about twice as much as the cheapest 38s. No reason to believe this is going to change when ammo prices stabilize.", since they were both clearly referring to commercially available, pre-loaded ammunition, not reloading components? For what it's worth, I think we all agree that relaoding is both cheaper and gives you a much wider range of options within a caliber.
  21. NJAC (Administrative Code) has the force of law.
  22. While certainly not an exhaustive method to determine prices (cheaper deals can probably be found), gunbot will give you a nice range of current pricing. As of a couple of minutes ago (excluding remanufactured ammo): 38spcl- $0.36 or $18.00/box of 50 357mg- $0.52 or $26.00/box of 50 44spcl- $0.50 or $25.00/box of 50 44mag- $0.57 or $28.50/box of 50
  23. If you can get it back to 16 rounds, it's not a legal mag.
  24. I bought my first gun for home defense. The second for hunting. My third to have a second and different type of hd gun. My fourth for hunting different game. My fifth because it liked my third and wanted it in a bigger caliber. Then there's those 3 permits I'm waiting on...
