Here we go.. Assault Weapon Ban being resurrected?
bzer1 replied to JrzyGuy30's topic in General Discussion
Yet it hasn't stopped them from spending more money than several generations can make. The bottom line is, they would simply print more money then tax us to pay for the elimination of our second amendment rights. $10bn, $50bn, $2tn, makes no difference they will spend any amount of OUR money they have to to pass their agenda. -
New Tv Show "Ted Nugents Gun Country" tonight @ 10pm
bzer1 replied to alowerlevel's topic in General Discussion
Meh, It was mildly entertaining, but I'm kind of getting tired of exploding zombies, and Hollywood gun battle setups. I'd like to see some actual shooting and real results. If I'm going to watch an hour long commercial I'd like to see the product perform in a real test. I'll continue to watch, because it's about guns. -
Where to get good hand to hand training?
bzer1 replied to Hooligan's topic in Training Techniques and Tools
I'm a Haganah F.I.G.H.T instructor up in Rockaway. The FIGHT program takes elements from several Martial arts including Krav Maga, but is an evolution of all those elements. It's a no BS, no frills aggressive style of self defense. FIGHT is the hand to hand self defense portion of the Haganah system. Which includes ITK(Israeli Tactical knife) IPTT Israeli professional tactical training, Combat Wrestling, and Trench Fighting. If you'd like to know more let me know. -

This!! It was ok, maybe a little cumbersome, but ok.

There, fixed that up just a bit. It seems to me that lawmakers in NY, NJ are intent on making massive and permanent victim class. Self reliance is scorned, and even punished as if defending ones self was a criminal act. Sad, very sad. I'm glad that no one was hurt, but would have been fine with the criminal being beaten unconscious.

I'm a real fan of Dual Sport bikes. I've been riding for almost 40 years, and have had all types of bikes. The easiest to ride and control have been dual sport bikes. For a beginner they have smooth power but not too much, and a good center of gravity, with a more upright riding position making control a little easier for the unseasoned rider. Not so great for long highway hauls though, but to get used to riding especially on local roads they are a blast. I happen to like Husqvarna, but all manufacturers have at least 1 DS model. http://husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com/product.php?pid=56&cid=21

Anyone fly or used to fly r/c airplanes?
bzer1 replied to RecessedFilter's topic in General Discussion
Flew heli's for quite a few years. Had one plane about 10 years ago. I still have a Kyosho Nexus 30 and a Century II Hawk. The Nexus is not Ready to fly...I never finished the build. But all the parts are there and i have a six channel Futaba radio that goes with it, if anyone is interested. I went through 3 others before I bought the Century then fianlly learned to fly on that one. I learned a lot of very expensive lessons learning to R/C helicopters. -
Fade away as a skill set, or as a certification? I would think that given the tubulence in the economy, that anything that could protect the bottom line would be of interest. Of course the cost of implementation may outweigh the short term benefits which could be a real wet blanket.

I highly recommend getting certified. Understanding process improvement as you already do gives you an advantage. I've reviewed the program(online edu) from VillaNova and it's one of the better and more recognized programs out there. If you're not looking for online training then you may want to get in touch with ASQ, as they have a great many assaciates in the northern part of the state. The question is, are you considering an industry specific cert like I did?

Lautenburg: We must restrict ammo
bzer1 replied to Cemeterys Gun Blob's topic in Firearm Hobby / Sport Discussion
I believe the issue was one of sales tax not the ammunition itself. I remember reading an article that referenced the top 25 items bought online and an estimate of the sales tax that was being avoided.
