  1. Pfib, bcm Thank you for the offer! We are in North Jersey. I will call RTSP tomorrow, see if they have a problem with it.
  2. Hi All, Sorry for all the noob questions. I searched and couldn't find a definitive answer - where should I meet the buyer who's interested in my rifle? I want to be 100% safe, need to figure it out before tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks!!! Saving this to my PC. Sounds like a pain.
  4. Hi All, I posted something on armslist today and getting a bunch of responses already. I never sold a firearm before, but I know what I need from buyer in NJ. Is it leagal for me to sell to out of state (PA) people and if so, what do I need from them? Thanks!
  5. Good luck - you will get them eventually, I know, waiting sucks. Then you'll have to wait 7 days for a nics check on your first permit. Then 30 days on second permit + 7-10 days for a second NICS check. I'm 14 days away from 2nd permit eligibility. Land of the free...
  6. I did, on Feb 25th. Took just under 4 months. Followed up once after two months, discovered that both reference letter didn't make it into the file. Followed up again a month later and had permits within three weeks.
  7. I'm a big fan of the site below and this article pretty much summarizes what I've seen, growing up in a place that did not allow guns. http://www.nononsenseselfdefense.com/knifelies.html Check out the whole site, I don't agree with everything, but I found myself unable to stop reading until I finished all the articles..
  8. Christmas/Channuka/Qwanza presents? I United States of America it's legal to give them as gifts, unlike PRNJ
  9. I did manage to get some as soon as you posted. 5 boxes limit. I kept expecting to get another "Order Cancelled" notice, but got a tracking number this time. EDIT: Oops, I meant whoever posted it on Friday.
  10. 1. What shows would you recommend for dry-fire target practice. 2. When you say "without using too much ammo" do you mean you occasionally DO fire live ammo at the television set? (Just kidding, man -couldn't resist )
  11. That's why I asked, thanks for everyone's help!
  12. Hi All, question for the new times we live in: I bought a handgun on March 5th - that's the date written in on the permit. I then went to another shop to pay for ANOTHER handgun, which I'd be picking up on Monday, April 7th. This gun is fully paid for and paperwork's filled out. According to our NICS thread on this forum it's taking 6-7 days now. My question: Can I call my FFL on April1st-2nd and and ask him to put in the NICS check, so that I don't have to wait another week after I completed my 30 day waiting period? Thanks in Advance!
  13. I gave up on it in NJ, bought my own smoker. Meat from restaurant depot, some oak (and fruit tree when I can get it) and I'm in business. Takes a long time, but worth it.
  14. Same happened to me at Cabelas this morning for 9mm order. Ordered, got confirmation, checked status at lunch - Backordered Called to find out what's up, was told that they had a 100 boxes with 300 hundred people trying to buy them at the same time. Cancelled the back order, will wait around. I seem to get lucky every couple of weeks - I guess this is not one of those.
  15. Bought a brand new TJ Sport in 2004. Got rid of it 2 years later, it was the worst made anything that I ever owned. I love the concept of a convertible AND an SUV, a perfect combination for living in NJ and I would love to drive nothing else. But when mechanical locks (300 year old technology) break at 10K miles, brake rotors warp at 5K and transmission disintegrates at 19K of highway driving, I'm not even going to try giving Chrysler another chance. 6 years on my 4Runner and it drives and looks as good as the day I bought it. AND it's made in America, as opposed to the Jeep that was made in Mexico. Or Canada, I can't exactly remember, but it wasn't U.S. Sorry for the rand, I'm still pissed all these years later.
  16. Midway does not ship pistol calibers to NJ as far as I recall, correct?
  17. I think it's mostly hoarding. Eventually people will think they have enough stockpiled and will go back to ordering 200-300 rounds at a time to "top off". My prediction: the shortage will last for a while, but will stop very suddenly.
  18. Last Sunday I went to Rockaway store to pick up some arrows. While I waited for them to be cut, there was at least 20-25 phone calls about ammo in the span of 10 min. There was also a BIG sign standing on the counter "We DO NOT have the following:..." followed by a list of pretty much all popular ammunition.
  19. You will need to check with your local police dept. There are towns that consider shooting an arrow a "discharge", so just make sure this is not the case where you are. I spoke to the detective when I picked up my P2Ps and he told me that my town has no laws or problems with this, but he did suggest that I use a backstop of some sort when shooting. So I built one out of 2x6s and carpets I had lying around.
  20. will work for 9mm ammo.

  21. Yes, they used to sell them in East Hanover. The one in Rockaway sells them, but I've never seen anything other than shotguns and hunting rifles there.
  22. If you pay for it in full, shouldn't be a problem.
