  1. Yesterday i had someone make 3-4 applications for new credit cards with my information. i have no idea how they got my info but im sure it could have been from one of many places. They had a 24 hour lead on me before I got an alert from the credit tracker I use. the cards were shut down etc. What was the real kicker was, somehow they were able to have my cell phone calls forwarded from my cell phone to another number. I called Verizon and confirmed that someone had put call forwarding on my cell without my knowledge. so that was corrected asap. This is a new one on me and I think I heard them all. However they did it, those calls being forwarded were to a number that the person would answer or call from to pretend they were me. I have had the same number for a very long time, the last time I added anyone to my line was 6 months ago. I'm a little amazed by this. I know its not voodoo but what gives with the phone thing? anyone ever hear of this?
  2. Hi people. Anyone here buy or have a good self defense insurance policy. I don't know enough to pick a good from a bad one. I see the NRA has CCW insurance option or is there anything better out there? Thanks in advance. In this state even if your right your wrong.
  3. Thanks for the info. To be honest I never built an AR by myself before and have never reloaded. I usually always was the guy who helped, but now the person I used to help/watch is gone So im kind of on my own on this one.
  4. Hi Im looking to buy a 6.5 Grendel AR no longer than 16 inch barrel. I been back and forth with the endless 6.5 vs 6.8 discussion and I think Im going the 6.5 route. I know the best answer is get both and maybe I will. I been looking at the Alexander arms site. Nice stuff but any of you guys or gals own anything or recommend else so I have a few quality choices. Thanks
  5. Older thread but I keep # 1 buckshot in mine.
  6. I forgot who said it but "Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth"
  7. I agree the school and instructors are key. I think a good base in ground fighting early on and then progress onto a more strike heavy art as they get older. Or do I have it backwards?
  8. All good points spoken here. Not interested in the competition aspect for now. Just pure self defense.
  9. I think I'm leaning more towards Judo for them as most fights end upon the ground.
  10. I though I would pick your brains for a minute. I have 3 little girls 11,9,and 5. I want them to start taking a martial art. I was thinking Aikido, judo or ? What do you guys think?
  11. Still getting spanked 548 yes. 373 no. Can we at least tie this one up or come close? I now there will be some that say these polls things don't really matter, but to the uninformed reader (Mr. public) perception is reality and that perception is how people think they should lean towards. That is all.
  12. NJ.com currently has a poll going asking if the legislature should override the Governors gun veto bill. We are currently losing that poll. 385 voted yes 221 voted no including me. Its called Poll: Should NJ legislature override Gov. Christies gun veto bill?
  13. What high exposure said, also it wouldn't hurt to have a copy of HR-218 with you. Im covered under HR 218 as retired LEO but I am restricted to non hollow point ammo etc in this state.
  14. Anybody have a sheetrock lift to help lifting drywall onto a ceiling that I can borrow / rent
  15. I also want to mention this could lead to a bigger job ultimately replacing units-moving duct work etc. as I am in the middle of a remodel and I haven't found (bid out the job) the HVAC guys yet.
  16. Hi guys the central air in my home (turned it on yesterday), started blowing lukewarm air. The compressor, blower etc all seem to be working. This happened to me a couple years ago in another place, a charge is all it took. I found some locals on craigslist (Yeah I know) that will give it a charge for a flat rate of 125.(assuming I don't have a leak ect) I don't know if that's a good or bad deal. I'd like to support a member here if I could. So does any member here local to the union county (mountainside) area want to make a few dollars cash today or tomorrow? 732-841-2472 ask for Paul

    Glock 42 owners

Any if you guys or gals own one? I was thinking this as my next purchase. I know it's got it's limits, but I was considering it for pocket/ warm weather carry. Feedback, comments or complaints. Also what kind of ammo do you use?
  18. Can you Pm me name of attorney. I want to do the same, thanks
  19. I have shot both and own a lwrc piston, the piston I have is lighter than the DI guns I have shot but the recoil impulse is slightly sharper. The cleaning part is definitely easier with the piston. Shoot both see what you like.
  20. This story needs to be get out in every venue and if people raise enough of a stink, then maybe, just maybe they will reconsider changing the law so that a judge may have discretion again in a case by case basis. She did a break the law, but this is not an instance where I believe 3 years in the slammer is justified, family ruined, criminal record, kids displaced. A serious WTF here.
  21. Interesting point. If you used physical force (hands and feet) within reason inside your home, to detain them I think you would be correct because they committed a felony (burglary). As silly as it sounds you may have to first secure your weapon, or risk a physical fight with your weapon readily accessible. is it doesn't become self defense anymore once you now become the instigator or pursuer if the situation escalates then to an aggravated assault or worse somebody dies during the struggle. I envy the states with a good castle doctrine. I know what I want to say I hope I am being clear. I can see the suspects attorney now, "My client realized the error of his misguided ways and immediately became remorseful and tried to leave you and your family unharmed, but that wasn't good enough for you. You had to chase and hunt him down like a dog because you wanted revenge, you couldn't wait to shoot somebody" or worse "Of course my client grabbed your gun during the struggle you started, he was fighting for his life and was forced to shoot you with your own gun in order to defend himself. Your Honor my client is seeking damages for his mental anguish."
