I would probably consider carrying it if it wasnt a flimsy piece of paper. Not to mention that its larger than all of my other cards, DL, CCs etc. And now that its laminated, its totally huge. Imagine if you lost it. It would only take a year to get a new one.

Say you order a gun online, you pick it up from your FFL, get it home and notice that its damaged. If the seller agrees to an exchange or refund, what happens to the PP that was used for the damaged gun? Would another PP be required for the new exchange?

I've embarked on a journey to watch the most highly rated older movies. Planet of the Apes was pretty good. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was good. Rear Window was weak. The Godfather was OK, yah thats right, just ok. I'm just going to say it, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, sucked! There, I said it. And you know what, you cant do jack about it! Up next, Once Upon a Time in the West then Casablanca. And they better not suck either.

Hypothetical Home Defense Question
deerpark replied to ironman27's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
The more I read the so called laws in NJ, I would think twice before doing anything gun related, even protecting myself in my own home. At this point, I might consider throwing a brick of 22lr at someone. Other than that, hide under something or haul ass outside. Good luck to us. -
Anyone know, did Jolene ever take her man?

NJ man approaches police, they confiscate his guns...
deerpark replied to deerpark's topic in General Discussion
I dont know that the focus should be on "hiding guns" (though in NJ, its seems like thats what its come to). The focus, IMHO, is that it should be much more difficult to confiscate guns. Obviously, this is not a normal situation, with the allegations that hes being followed and the "20 page letter". Difficult to say whats really going on until we hear from the actual gentleman. TBH, I don’t think this situation would be as concerning if it weren’t for the fact that gun rights in NJ are under constant scrutiny (putting it mildly). -

Increased Sales Tax on Guns and Ammo

Thats exactly it. This is to punish gun owners. This would also be very harmful to small businesses. 5% on top of the 7%, on top of the already higher NJ prices. We would always buy out of state. -
Help him out man, he's your neighbor!!!

No ignorance whatsoever. Most departments? Where? Most of the job listings I see require a HS diploma. Even if they require 60 college credits, I'm not that far off. And they will also get an exemption for military service. What does it take to join the military? Nothing. Lets not kid ourselves, the basic requirements to become a cop are ridiculous. Yet, they put themselves on some kind of pedestal. Why? I'm not sure. Guns and badges are handed out like candy. IMHO, the basic requirements to be a cop should be MUCH more stringent. A college degree should be the bare minimum. IMHO, they should be required to have an advanced degree and there should be a minimum age requirement.

True, you were just stating an example. With regards to officer qualifcations, I'm not off. Some places have slightly more requirements, but otherwise, what I said was accurate.

IMHO, just be honest. As references, we're obviously NOT going to refer someone whom we think is unsuitable. Anyone at anytime could engage in bad behavior, thats impossible to predict (unless its really really obvious, in which case we wouldnt refer them anyway). Spend some time with the individual, meal etc.

NJ man approaches police, they confiscate his guns...

True. Would just like some due process before they confiscated his guns. At-least wait until the completion of the mental evaluation. Though in NJ, the threshold is probably pretty low, especially if gun confiscations are involved. -

A "letter" is not a determination of guilt. -
