  1. That is what I was thinking he might do with the electric collar. Mine is the same!!! lol. He yelped the other day before I even clipped his nail. It was like he already was prepared for me to cut it. Mine is fine on or off leash. He goes nowhere. I have him in the front of my house as traffic goes by; he just sits there. Off leash he doesn't go more than 20 yards away; then I call him he stops and comes back. The dog agressive bothers me though because he tried to kill my buddy's dog when he brought her over. At first it was just rough play, then he went full-bore "shepherd" on her. Does yours watch TV? Mine does all the time. He does not like animal shows either.
  2. Cannot go wrong with ARAI (Mine is RX-Q), Shoei, or AGV. If you are on a budget HJC's will work just fine. Stay away from ICON, Scorpion, AFX, etc. Try these guys: http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Categories.bok?category=Motorcycle+Helmets%3ACloseout This is where I got my ARAI.
  3. Wink- WInk- "He is AMAZING with my kids and me. He is still very high energy and loves to play but the dog aggression is annoying! so do ourself a favor, OVER play with him! a tired GSD is a happy GSD is a happy owner! oh and dont worry about the ears they will stand up eventually." Agree with you 100%! They are super smart. Very high energy dogs. Not for everyone though. My 2.0 year old GSD has become dog aggressive. I am trying to find a decent training to break him of it. But he is very stubborn also. I had a one-day trainer come to my house. She said he is 90% trained (by me of course) and recommended I get him an electronic collar to break him of the dog aggressiveness. Thoughts? BTW, mine LOVES the water. I took him swimming for the first time last summer by the Delaware River. He loved it. Went in with no hesitation or coercing by me. This is my first GSD. I will admit they are a handful, especially if you do not take charge when they are young. I socialized him all the time and took him to Petsmart after 6 months of age. He was fine until last summer when he had a "run in" with another dog a bark park. He has been dog-aggressive ever since.
  4. I have the S&W M&P15FT. I like it. It is a good first time AR buyer gun.
  5. There will be definitely problems in Florida. I would suppose in big cities like Philthadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, maybe even Newark, Trenton and Camden, etc. as it will give them "reason" to attack "whitey". Just like the Rodney King incident in 1992. Unfortunately, our tax dollars will repay to build what they destroy.
  6. I will tend to agree with most of the comments here. Some LEO's are cool; some are not. Each dept. has their good officers and bad ones; some are approachable; others are not. That is a fact of life with all people we come across. I will agree that some know nothing about their duty weapon other than to load it and qualify. Others who are into guns, like us, will engage in conversations about weapons. That is how I learned about getting my first AR. From my personal experience ones who are ex-military or academy instructors are most willing to talk shop about weapons. In this case, maybe standing in line with others around may have not been the optimal place to ask about his weapon. I may have prefaced the question with, "Good morning Officer, may I ask you a question about your pistol"? Then see where it goes from there.
  7. Thought this was pretty cool. http://www.flightradar24.com/ On the map you will see all the planes in the air. Roll your mouse wheel to Zoom "In" or "Out" Click on a airplane, and on the left screen you will get all the info., airline, type, speed, altitude in real time, re-calculated every 10 seconds. On some you can also click on ‘view from the cockpit’. These are all the aircraft in the air right now! In the left hand column, there is a box called "planes." The number in the box is the number of aircraft airborne. This view is what the traffic management people see for planning purposes at the various airports. What type of plane, airbus A320,330,350? Boeing.....or other. Where does it come from, where is it going, what altitude, what speed, what company etc..
  8. HE- Definitely most helpful. For a chest style rig, what are your thoughts on having two spare pistol mag pouches attached to the front of the AR mags? Say in the #2 and 3 position? Or like yours at #1 and 3?
  9. HE- Awesome pictures of your rig. Thank you. Where do you keep your extra pistol mags on this rig?
  10. I have clover too. I used commercial stuff called Three-way. Only licensed pesticide landscapers can get it. See of you know any that can get some for you.
  11. I already have mine scanned. I had to send it to them the first time I purchased ammo online to a particular vendor. I have never once been asked to show ID to purchase ammo in PA. Actually on time I pulled out my DL when I puchased some and the lady behind the counter asked me what I was doing that for. lol.
  12. That is my first thought. It gives them "probable cause" to search your vehicle. That is profiling. No need to have this information on your DL.
  13. I knew they could climb trees, but no idea that it was that fast. That hunter handled it well considering the circumstances. I guess "playing dead" while sitting in a tree stand worked for him.
  14. I wanted thank HE, Vlad, et al. for their advice on the Aimpoint PRO. I ordered it from LaRue Tactical along with their cantilever mount and it came last week. I went to the range in PA this morning with my AR and to sight in the PRO. Took a little bit (it was way off to the right and a little high) but got it sighted in at 75 and 100 yards. Overall I think it came out pretty good. Pretty decent groupings once I got the feeling for moving the windage/elevation over. This was with Federal .55 grain ammo. I like this red dot and would recommend it to others. My buddy liked it also and I am trying to convince him to get one. Thanks again everyone. S.
  15. Reponse I received from Assb.Anthony Bucco this morning: Mr. XXXXX, Thank you for your email regarding gun control. As a long time member of the NRA, the Second Amendment Society and the New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Association, I have always been and continue to be a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. I will not support additional restrictions on gun ownership. After a tragedy it is not uncommon for some to call for increased gun regulations, but I assure you that I will continue to support the rights of responsible, legal gun owners. Sincerely, Tony
  16. Here is my letter to them tonight. Dear Assembly Budget Committee members, I am concerned about the upcoming vote in the Assembly Budget Committee on S2723/A4182. I would like to URGE you to vote NO on the following bills S2723/A4182. These bills will do nothing to prevent senseless gun crimes. Criminals do not buy guns legally or get background checks. Changing the FID process will do nothing against criminals. These bills will only affect law-abiding gun owners in the state of New Jersey. The state has neither the time, nor the money to implement another long and archaic NICS or a new FID card system. Currently it takes a law-abiding citizen over six months to obtain an FID card. That is ridiculous. It takes several more months after that to obtain a pistol purchase permit. Then another background check is run at the point of purchase at the FFL dealer. Meanwhile, criminals continue to buy guns illegal. A new NICS or FID card system will cost the State hundreds of thousands of dollars to implement and maintain. Money we do not have for a system that will not prevent any more gun crimes from occurring. I think valuable Trooper resources can be used elsewhere to better fight crime. S2723/A4182 is not an essential Bill and provides for no positive outcome or benefits for our State and its residents. The current FID and Permit-To-Purchase system is in place and working. To spend tax dollars on an expensive overhaul with no true benefits is an irresponsible decision that affects all tax payers. What we, and you, should focus more on is the penalties for having an illegal firearm or committing a crime with a firearm. Criminals often times get several slaps on the wrist and plea bargain their way out of heavier fines and jail time by the bogged down Superior Court Criminal justice system, the Judges, and the Prosecutors. We need more enforcement of the current laws; not more restrictive unenforced laws. I am a law abiding citizen of the State of New Jersey. I am also an active voter in all elections. I will not forget your vote come election time. Sincerely yours,
  17. When I ordered my ammo online they sent the box within a box. No writing on the outside indicating what was in the package.
  18. My sentimental gun is my .22 rifle given to me by my Grandfather. It is a Ted Williams Sears Model 34 made by High Standard Manufacturing Corp. I believe it is a 1967 model. It has the original sling and scope also. Shoots great too after all these years; great plinker.
  19. My SIG P239. Because it was my 1st one....and you never forget your first one. Shoots smooth and has never given me any problems no matter what ammo is run through it.
  20. That might be correct, but who is going to spend all that money and time getting the 3rd circuit court of appeals? The "justifiable need clause" is the kicker here. The Judges do not see the need for the average citizen to protect themselves, but it is good enough for them to carry....
  21. The thing is NJ is not disallowing us our 2A rights. They are just not allowing us to CCW. There is a difference. That is why they can claim they are not violating the US Constitution and list themselves as a "shall issue" state when we all know well and good that the average Joe cannt get a CCW permit. I think it sucks, but that is how the NJ Courts interpret the law.
  22. That is in the Federal Constitution. Each State has there own Constitution that can be specific. NJ's does not say anything about self protection. So technically they are not violating our Federal rights. State's can create their own Rights, just as long as they do not violate our Federal Rights. The NJ constitution says nothing about allowing CCW.
  23. I unfortunately think NJ will win its court case. Not good for us. If I understand correcty, the NJ constitution (1947) does not state anywhere about the individual's right to carry and protect oneself. Even though the Federal Constitution has the 2A that does state we can have weapons. Unlike PA's Constitution which has that the people can arm themselves for protection. Can some one else confirm my interpretation of the NJ vs. PA Constitutions?
  24. All State judges are apppointed/nominateed by the Governor. They have to be vetted first, then come before the Senate Judicial Committee for appointment. Christie wants to change the make-up of the state Supreme Court as they are 'activist' judge's (ie: COAH, Mt. Laurel decision, school funding). They passed unmandated and unfunded decisions into law. That is not their job; their job is to interpret the laws and not make them. They get tenure after 7 years if they are reappointed and are for life or age 70 (in the NJ Constitution) which by the way they are trying to change to raise the retirement age. Once a judge retires at 70, they can be "rehired" for $ 300 a day as what is called a Recall Judge. They can only be a Recall Judge until age 80. Yes, two years ago Christie did not reappoint a black Supreme Court Judge. He was a Democrat and had some very poor decisions. The Dems are livid at Christie for not reappointing the only black SCJ. That is why Sweeney is stonewalling him on other appointments down to the Superior Court level.
