If you dont wanna clean or maintai. Why not a revolver for hd, no woriies about rounds being fed correctly or jamming

I love the 1911 its a beautiful gun. I just bought a used dan wesson. It does take some time to get used too . Next on the list is a colt commander 1911. I guess I like the weight in my hands at the range. But I do agree if it was a duty gun, it would have to be a compact or partial polymer because of the weight. I ended up geti g laser grips and I'm getting used to them too

Necessary vs Luxury vs Just blowing cash on something

You can never have too many guns or knives or watches(sorry had to add that last one). That being said. I can stress enough a good fire starters at least 2 types. A good knife and a good gun, ( i would say even a 22 just because you can carry a crap load of ammmo. on your persons) Water decontamination kit. Dry clothes packed in 5-6 hefty bags in your rucksack and a good pair of boots or sneakers . I think you can pretty much survive with that as base for bugging out. Oh and first aid kit -

Was going to go to Shore Shot, ended going to BA, guys there were talking about it. I'm a member at SS, don't really like going, guys there are pretty rude and give me the hairy eyeball, one or two of the guys are nice, the rest make it seem like your bothering them. I was there at 5:30 sunday door was locked people inside shooting (i'm assuming employees) and they close at 6? I guess membership doesn't have its privliedges. Sad becasue I became a member at the begining of the month, I'm now a member of BA too. Really glad I chose to go to BA at 6:30 today -
222, I reallying wasn't talking about sueing the government, pretty much like beating you head against the wall, more on the lines of what would happen if anything if the ffl transfered the item over after the 3 days if the nics did not come back. Any clarification would be great and thanks for the the response.

"NICS Background check is controlled by USC 922(t)(1), which includes (B)(ii) that says if 3 days has passed with no rejection, FFL can proceed with transfer. But when have you ever heard an FFL do that? Also USC 922(t)(3)(A) says if the buyer presents a permit that allows for possession and acquisition of firearm, and is issued less than 5 years ago, the NICS background check is not needed. But when have you ever heard an FFL look st your NJ FID and say, "Nope you are good. No background check for you." What good is this stipulation when no FFL will do that.. There is not one ffl here that would release a transfer if the 3 days had passed and no nics results( I don't blame you) .. but what would the state do if you did, isn't it actually their failure to comply with the law?

Day 8 of dan wesson herritage being held hostage by the state
-
So it seems 9 days is the norm. I was hoping to get a call today. Day 7 for me ... and the wait continues
-
Again this screws no one except law a bidding citizens. If I wasnt , first I wouldn't be complaining publicly on a gun fourm and second I'd be buying one iilegally around the corner. Who are these laws suppose protect. Thanks va_bank for the clarification

What if I buy a gun from a private seller from ny and have it sent to my ffl. First can they do this even if my 30 days isnt up from my most resont nics. And I'm assumei ng if they can my nics would be sent out on day 31 for the new gun that was sent in
-
Was just about to say. Go with a 1911 and you wont have to worry about the number of rounds in the mag. I just bought one off of arms list. Worked out really well. You just have to do you due diligence. Took about a week to finally get the deal done but both parties were happy

Welcome grump. I'm new too and from the same area. Lots of great info. Where are you looking to shoot? Like to know where youve been. My gun should be in today. Then the agonizing wait for my nics. Did you source ammo yet

Tj 4 the boxers. Thanks and thanks for your service too. 2nd armored 1-92 FA. MRLS during shield and storm then got disbanded and had to cross over to the 1CAV 1/21. Def will take you up on that, once I get my bearings. Thanks for all the good advice Andy
