  1. I thought this thread was "no talk about religion or politics" But I guess if there are mods posting it's ok?
  2. Anything that rides low in your pocket. It can't be menacing if no one can see it.
  3. - 2C:39-9.1... Any person who sells any hunting, fishing, combat or survival knife having a blade length of five inches or more or an overall length of 10 inches or more to a person under 18 years of age commits a crime of the fourth degree... Unless you're under 18, you're good to go. You can probably find a Ka-Bar cheaper online anyway. My kukri only set me back around 55-60 on Amazon. I've also discussed this with a park ranger who was giving me a hard time at a camping spot, and he agreed that I was legally allowed to have my 12in blade.
  4. Purchased my first handgun on GunBroker and had a smooth experience and transaction. I bought an item with the buy now option and paid immediately. Your experience will depend heavily on the seller, I imagine. It would be similar to ebay. Personally, I bought from Woodbury Outfitters (Supohunter) and got my FFL to fax the information over the same day. I found the item and paid immediately on a Tuesday and by Friday it was at my local FFL. Woodbury makes you get two-day shipping so it was good but I'd say stick with the big sellers who have high ratings. Wouldn't necessarily trust a random private seller for a gun.
  5. Completely different issue I think. That kid wasn't in his home at all and he was defenseless. Complete example of intolerable racial profiling.
  6. There's an area along the Delaware Water Gap backpacking grounds that has a backpacking camp (free). I can't find a trail map to post right now it's only about 3-4 miles from the entrance in East Stroudsburg.
  7. Good post. I have felt a little odd on these forums and other gun forums when people bash liberals constantly in particular. The truth is, my views are libertarian in nature which includes some viewpoints of liberals and conservatives. I support the Second Amendment but sometimes feel as though these sites stray away from that original purpose. Thank you sir.
  8. This. New Jersey has the second lowest rate of gun ownership after Hawaii. Not enough market here for a gun superstore like that. They'd do well during a craze like this but with normal business (people shopping locally for what they need) they'd be struggling. Also, with the climate changing and all this legislation on the table, this isn't a supportive place for FFLs.
  9. I went with the XD-45 Compact personally. Couldn't justify the extra money for the XDm because you can't use it for competition (match-grade barrel) and I didn't care for the new trigger. I would recommend the XD but the M&P is a great shooter, and the Glock is...well it's a Glock. You can hate it or love it but you can't deny that it shoots every time.
  10. Edit: Sorry, forgot the no discussion rule. Will send PM.

    NICS checks

It's sad that I am praying for ONLY a 15-16 day wait for something that I already paid for and just returned a background check for 2 weeks ago.
  12. In the Middlesex/Mercer County areas, I'm not seeing much of any kind of handgun ammo and barely any buckshot either.
  13. Gotcha. Figured that. But I wanted a shred of hope just in case. I know that FFLs are allowed to receive guns with hi-cap mags or illegal configs to modify them for legal standards. So I thought that if you did manage to get a long gun from another state that didn't wasn't up to code, you might be allowed to keep it at home until modified. Thanks
  14. Oh awesome! I thought the "evil features" thing applied to all long guns. Guess I just read the law wrong. Thanks for all the replies. Guess Imma goin' shootin'. People on this site have been extremely helpful to me while navigating everything.
