  1. I think Dick's had them for $289 and then take another $40 until Mon I believe. So $250.
  2. Well, I just ordered one of these:
  3. Ok, I'm hooked. Now my wife just wants to know how much it's going to cost us. I need a new shotgun. I was using a coach gun today (my only shotgun). I was actually doing pretty good with it. Even hitting some doubles. I also need a thrower. There were some nice electric ones being used. The oscillating deals mounted on trailers were awfully sweet. :-)
  4. Thanks. I wasn't sure if I should bring the table, chairs, tent, etc.
  5. I'm heading out for the first time tomorrow morning. What is the setup like there? Do you park where you shoot? From the map it looks like there is a small parking lot near the road and the shotgun area is 2 fields away. I'm trying to decide what to bring and, obviously, if I have to hump all the gear from truck to the shooting area I won't be bringing as much.
  6. That sounds about right price wise. Figure $0.10 for the bullet, $0.03 for the primer , and $0.03 for the powder per cartridge. That works out to $0.16 per round, or $8.00 per box of 50. There is a bit of savings there. Not sure if it's worth it for the amount of shooting you do. If you just want to expand your hobby, or are into target shooting, then by all means, go for it.
  7. I started out with a Lee Progressive press and never had an issue. I personally don't know why people knock them. It was reasonably priced and has served me well. I've probably loaded about 12,000 rounds of .45 ACP with it in the 3 years I've had it.
  8. It's a good idea but, for your home I think the plug-in emergency lights Scorpio mentioned are the way to go. Get a few and post them in common areas around the house, when the power goes out they serve as emergency lighting but are also portable. I use to have a few and they worked well.
  9. I just ordered 4000 .45 bullets last week to add to my stock. I already have plenty of powder but I should probably add some more primers to the mix. That, plus what is already on the shelf should hold me over for a while.
  10. Are they going to ask the crowd not to yell or cheer too loud as well? When I was a kid the people who lived around our football field used to sit out on the roofs of their houses on Friday nights and watch the game.

    SIG P938

That's a good price. I paid $680 for the one I just picked up.
  12. As T Bill already mentioned, you'll need a .22 to compete in a complete 2700 match. You don't have to shoot all stages though. Some people only shoot the .22 portion. Your Springfield would be the natural choice for bullseye.

Good thing you had two of those.

Well, I'm glad you all like your 938s. I picked one up on my way home from work today. Hopefully I'll get to the range Sunday to run a box through it.

Hey guys, I have a permit that expires in two days and was looking at a P938 Nightmare. It's a nice little gun but a little pricy for a pocket pistol. ($835 msrp) I was wondering if any one has one or has experience with one. Curious to hear some opinions before dropping a bunch of cash.
  17. A little off subject but, there's no "dedicated division" for 1911 in Bullseye. The course of fire consists of 90 shots of .22, 90 center fire, and 90 .45. You can use any .45 you like.
  18. I have a bunch of .40, .223, and some 7.62x54r (Ya can't have my .45
  19. Hey Jim, I could be wrong but, I believe the 900 matches are members only. They are not NRA sanctioned matches. It's just a "fun shoot" and we order pizza or subs after. Joe
  20. Sorry you had so much trouble with it. Ruger CS is great though and I'm sure they would have taken care of it for you. The way you referred to the MKIV possibly fixing the issues you had made it sound like you felt there was something inherently wrong with the design that needed fixing. As you said , any individual gun can have issues. Although Glocks are reliable they aren't very accurate. You really can't fairly compare a combat gun to a target gun. That said, the only issue I ever had with my most used MK was the trigger. I use the gun for Standard Pistol Matches and did my own trigger job when I first got it. It was perfect for 7-8,000 rounds and then I started having issues. After some trouble shooting I replaced the sear and all was well. Gun probably has a little over 10,000 rounds through it and is as accurate as anything else I see on the the firing line.
  21. What are the "issues" you had?
  22. Never found cleaning my Ruger MKs to be an issue. To me, this is a fix for something that ain't broke.
  23. Are you referring to the "Borough of Fair Lawn Open Public Records Act Request Form"?
  24. Mental health form is also available online. Anything you need should be here: http://www.njsp.org/firearms/forms.shtml
