  1. I think the current MO is to just label anyone or anything you don't agree with as racist.
  2. The mags were on the show room floor for the taking. It was not clear to me if they were neutered, it was clear they had round green stickers.
  3. I hope to take mine out on Saturday to zero it.
  4. Yes, all of the 15+ mags had round green stickers.
  5. I happened to be in the area so I stopped in at RTSP last night to check them out. Very nice inventory of firearms for sale and rent on the range. I noticed that they had 30 round AR-15 mags and 16, 17, and more round handgun mags. If they are illegal in NJ how is it possible to sell them here? Only to out of state residents?
  6. ... with free shipping. Obviously not as good as Tanner's deal but you don't have to deal with a rebate: http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/blazer-brass-9mm-luger-115-grain-fmj-centerfire-pistol-ammunition#repChildCatid=768196 All of their current deals: http://www.academy.com/shop/SearchDisplay?searchType=2&searchTerm=AcademyHotDeals&beginIndex=0&orderBy=7&pageView=grid&minPrice=&maxPrice=&pageSize=&categoryId=64413&&cm_mmc=email-_-AdHoc-_-20161116+-+Pre-Black+Friday+AB+--with+HD+Flag-_-Sub5-Shooting
  7. FWIW, in addition to everyone's input here, I found this super helpful: http://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-ar-15-upgrades-handguards-triggers-bcgs-more/
  8. Thanks for all the great advice, I truly appreciate it! I think for this specific application the magpul makes the most sense. My next AR-15 will be different ...
  9. I like like Troy 12 inch! Checking to make sure it's compatible with the block and sling mount. I am also liking the Magpul M-LOK hand guard https://www.magpul.com/products/moe-mlok-hand-guard-carbine-length-ar15-m4 plus adding the fore grip: https://www.magpul.com/products/m-lok-afg Decisions ... decisions ...
  10. Thanks guys! HE you ask good questions ... I admit I am going for looks more than function, although I will probably end up adding a hand stop or grip. Already a sling mount on the fixed picatinny rail gas block. This is for an existing WW SRC NJ compliant model with a welded brake: http://www.windhamweaponry.com/pdf/NewTechSeets/R16M4FTPT-MA-8-12-16%20MSRP.pdf Free float or not? As a newb I don't know the differences/advantages either way. I can tell you I'm not interested in doing the work to remove the brake or block, I would just like this to be "drop in". For it to be a free float would the brake and block have to come off? I am considering this Troy: https://troyind.com/products/drop-7-blk
  11. I would like to replace mine with a quad rail. Any suggestions for a quality moderately priced rail?
  12. Black Friday sale, details at https://www.facebook.com/TannersSportCenter/?fref=ts
  13. ... wonder if prices will go down today?

Hmmm ... now you have me rethinking the Springfield XDm .45 ...
  15. A little bit of a belated intro as I joined the forum back in September ... Hi NJGF! New member and new firearms enthusiast here in Mercer county. I have lived in Middlesex/Hunterdon/Somerset/Mercer and always had an interest in firearms, but as my wife wasn't too keen on them I just never pursued it. With everything going on in the political world over the last year it has opened our eyes and we decided that it was time to get involved, educated, and stand up for our rights, 2A and otherwise! Now I even have her shooting with me. Professionally I work in software development, but since I was a teen I had a strong interest in emergency services. I have been active (including high level leadership roles) in the fire and ems community since 1983 in Hunterdon/Somerset/Mercer/Hudson counties, and this has given me a tremendous level of respect for those serving in law enforcement. My initial interest in firearms was for home defense, but during my research over the summer I became aware of the action shooting sports, which has become my new hobby. Thanks to you forum members for your support and generous help with all of my questions. Tom

    How did that work out?
  17. No web site and closed on Sundays and Mondays
  18. ... so he knowingly bought a home next to a range?
  19. Yes! See my post from Nov 2 (and sales are currently suspended so nothing has sold since then) There were a few Glocks, Springfields, Berettas, H&K, and various 1911, plus some shotguns and other rifles (no AR-15).
  20. Last night was the busiest I have ever seen it in 20+ years.
  21. I just stopped in. They have suspended firearms sales for a few days because their license expired. Expect to be selling again in 3-5 days. They do have a few Springfields, Glocks, 1911s, and a few others, plus some shotguns and bolt actions. The sales guy said probably 20% off when they start selling again. The Glock 19 they have is tagged at $599 to give you an idea on prices. Springfield XDm 9mm is $629.
