  1. What's crazy about this fee is that it's literally just going to line pockets just like every other fee in NJ. I'm not naive enough to think this doesn't happen everywhere, just shocked at how blatant it is up here. Also, $100 annually won't stop me from protecting my home. However, those who are at highest risk of gun violence will not be able to afford it so won't change those statistics.

We need a new thread that's just pics of our dogs when they were pups. Cuteness overload lol.
  4. I haven't heard of anyone getting any deals yet.
  5. I've been looking at lot at this info since you guys posted it. Think I'm going to grab the TS 18-gun safe once they go on sale. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/winchester-18-gun-granite-safe-with-ul-electronic-lock?cm_vc=IOPDP1
  6. If you don't live in NJ, Bud's is starting to honor the wait list orders so they might have some in stock.
  7. Stephen Hunter made her a major part of the storyline in the last Bob Lee Swagger book.
  8. I had the same issue when applying for my FPID. None of the cops seemed to know that the sticker system had been stopped. A few were acting like I was making it up. Finally one officer said even if what I was said was true, is the hassle worth the cost of a dupe license? I went ahead and got the new one.
  9. I've shot one and it's a nice pistol. The deal sounds good as well. Have fun!
  10. Wow solves all the issues some takedown models have with silencers.
  11. I was pretty shocked to hear the ranges aren't as busy immediately after work. In NC, the ranges were always packed at that time since many have guns in their car or on them at work. I appreciate the advice and clarification, I'll read up on the locked box possibility (thanks griz).
  12. This is really the issue. I get that I can likely get away with doing it anyway. I get that there is some common sense that could be applied, but I can say that about the majority of NJ's firearm laws. I really just want to shoot more often at the range lol. The consequences of a freak occurrence are so severe that I'm not willing to take any chances. i would love to hear more on the being able to transport a pistol if member of a club. Would I then be able to leave a locked container and in a family member's safe? Or will I have to bring it to work? Seems like the correct answer is obvious, but again it's NJ.
  13. Gun for hire is 1 exit away from work. I'm sure they have lockers. I'll have to give them a call.
  14. That's what I figured. So the only way to shoot after work is to drive home first then drive to the range?
  15. Did a search on this and it seemed there was a lot of discussion but nothing concrete on this. I'm trying to get to the range more often, but work schedule and travel make it difficult. I would love to shoot after work, but obviously no chance of leaving a firearm in the car while at work in this state. I have family near where I work that have their NJ FPID. Is it NJ legal for me to drop a locked firearm (I would have only key) into their gun safe before work and pick it up after work? Works seems like a bit too large of a deviation to the range, but does the storage change anything? Is a family member even allowed to temporarily store firearms in this state? I read something along the lines of an 8/24 hr rule.
  16. Hey everyone, thanks a ton for the advice. Passing along a lot of this info to the agent and lawyers to make sure we are covering everything. Wife and I moved up here after we graduated for jobs. She has a lot of family up here so easy transition, but we are looking to move back in a couple years to live much closer to our parents. This is our first time doing anything like this so a lot to consider and want to make sure we are thorough.
  17. You can come up with a lot of scary scenarios and talk yourself out of anything. A few things that will never change: 1. Having a gun and not needing it is better than not having a gun and needing it. Can come up with plenty of scary scenarios because this statement is objectively true. NJ has impossible carry laws. This scares me. 2. You can make all the rules you want, but those rules will not get followed by the people in all the scary scenarios you come up with. It'll just make it harder for you, me, and everyone else who actually follows the rules. This scares me. And every night I watch the news in NJ, there's some crazy person who does something horrible to an innocent, unsuspecting person who was just going about their daily routine living their daily life. This scares the f&@k out of me. All we can do is hope that none of us or our loved ones are the targets of these random acts of violence. I'm not trying to say anything negative about law enforcement, but we can't carry a cop around with us.
  18. Some might recall I posted about GIS discrepancies on a 30 acre property I was interested in. The seller agreed to a price per acre addendum contingent on the survey so I am now in the due diligence period. You guys were very helpful on the first run so I'm looking for some thoughts on this next part. Some quick background: there is a house built in 1894 and some old, dilapidated farm buildings on the property that I will tear down ASAP. Other than that, it's a big piece of land that I am buying as is. There's a farm directly south and houses on the other side of the road all around the property so I'm not too concerned about electricity or well. Besides the survey, what else should I be trying to get done during due diligence?

I've been to 1000 yard ranges and it's exciting until the shooting starts. There will be guys with $15-20k invested and none of them hit a big ass cardboard box, much less a braggable target. reminds me of the first time I walked into a curling match prior to my college hockey game. Whole team was pumped, then the curling match actually started. Much ado about nothing.
  20. Just barely able to convince myself to hold off since there isn't free shipping. Now just need you guys to order them all before I change my mind.
  21. What's the difference between the 2 item #s? Thinking about picking up a few on my way home from work tomorrow.
  22. I did the same before I signed up. Welcome!
  23. My dad in NC ordered one off Buds a few months ago. They are way backordered. You have to wait at least 90 days before you can ask for a full refund if you get tired of waiting. They are very cool!

  25. The one post by diamond is a great deal. If you are military, check the PX. The prices on sales are great, they have sales constantly, and there is no sales tax.
