  1. Two magazines required. There was no time limit, so reloading wasn't a issue. You're only loading 5 rounds in each magazine, so it really wasn't an issue.
  2. I think they call it 'Black Cherry'. They recently added some custom finishes. I held one at a gun shop. Looks very cool in person.
  3. For what it's worth, my unrestricted Concealed Carry Permit is now 'complete'. - Applied for initial permit July 2022 - Permit received early january with court order attached (Morris County) listing guns I was limited to - July 2023 I attempted to add guns to permit by contacting court, but they refused and referred me to local PD. Local PD advised that I would need to apply for new permit or wait until I renew. - Early September 2023 I submitted a new application and did a re-qual - Late September did re-qual (Shooters) to get the latest form 182 and handed in to PD - Early October unrestricted permit received (and printed/laminated) I didn't keep track of time/money sunk, but I tried to shop around as best as possible for pricing on quals, fingerprints, etc, so I didn't spend as much as some folks, but still more than I wanted. Hopefully when I renew in two years the $200 fee will be GREATLY reduced as well as some of the administrative nonsense.
  4. Yeah, seems a little high. They're the closest range to my house but I've only been there three times since they opened.
  5. About 10 at a time. VERY well done. It's almost like an assembly line. You get a briefing in the classroom about the course of fire and how guns will be handled, then you go in and shoot. When you're done shooting there's already another group sitting in the classroom behind you, briefed and waiting to go shoot. One guy in my squad didn't pass, so this is not just an administrative exercise. You have to demonstrate safe handling and hit 40 out of 50. This is a fantastic response by Shooters.
  6. I wouldn't overthink it. Buy dedicated .458 Socom mags with '.458 Socom' printed on them, and keep them with the upper: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=.458+Socom+magazine&t=ffab&ia=web
  7. Indeed. I'll never speak ill of the dead, and I feel bad for her friends and family. I won't join the chorus of people who are lauding her 'longevity' as I feel she should have retired a very long time ago.
  8. Got it. Kudos for the way you're taking care of this. I'll be shooting my re-qual this weekend...
  9. I think it's GREAT that you're taking care of people like this. For folks who qualified after July 21 and received the SP 182 (but not the new SP 182 with CCARE) do they still have to requal?
  10. There is no need to engage the court. They haven't cared about it in months...but don't run afoul of what's listed in their order.
  11. The fact that the 2.2 figure was just fiction made up for the argument makes it even more absurd...
  12. The short answer is that you're responsible to follow the law, so so there's no exemption/exception for not having online access. There are plenty of older guys who STILL have 15 and 17 round magazines at the range, and those were outlawed years ago. For CCW I suspect things will be done in a half-assed way where different PD's do different things.
  13. I have those as well. They work perfectly.
  14. Same for me when I applied through my local PD with paper form. Now that everything is done via online form the reference checks are done via e-mail, so they go out automatically to the recipients.
  15. Not sure if this has been shared. https://assets.nationbuilder.com/firearmspolicycoalition/pages/6681/attachments/original/1695071402/Koons_v_Platkin_Reply_Brief_for_Siegel_Plaintiffs.pdf Arguing to get rid of the $200 permit fee and 4 reference requirement because they're likely to be squashed on appeal. Same argument for playgrounds/youth sports and medical facility restrictions.
  16. No shit to that. I want to thank everyone who's "taking it for the team" by going through this nonsense multiple times. I pissed and moaned a little to my friends because I applied twice (once for permit with court order attached and the second for unrestricted) but there are people who have sunk a LOT of money into this. I'm a bit of a gun guy, so I already had guns, ammo, range time, etc, but there are some people who bought new guns, holsters, ammo, had to practice to pass quals, and paid for multiple classes. They are easily over a thousand dollars (maybe approaching $2k) sunk at this point.
  17. The new guidance on qualification is just for qualification. You'll still have to fill out the handgun form.
  18. I think the primary sticking point will be the need for the SP 182 form.
  19. We'll see. It looks like the admin requirement is submission of SP 182 Version. That form (both versions) reference "HQC2 (modified)" as meeting the requirement, so if you have either form submitted it seems like you'd be good. Waiting for the 'experts' to opine...
  20. To me it seems that part of the new communication is making the qual less 'difficult', and part is kicking things down the road to December (presumably to a point when another update from the courts comes down. If you've taken your qual already then it was done under a more stringent course of fire.
  21. This is very good news. Hopefully it's a little momentum heading into the other pending litigation...
  22. I suspect many PD's will have the same opinion. They have better things to do than chase down some ambiguous administrative item that may or may not be meaningful...
  23. Glad to hear it! Should be the same for EVERYONE but I suspect some PD's will be less accommodating.
  24. Not sure this represents a change. The latest 'form' that we've been talking about was posted in July and it's titled "Use of Force Interim Training For Private Citizen Concealed Carry", so it seems the 'interim' process is just lasting longer? file:///C:/Users/Home%20Laptop/Downloads/PTC_Use_of_Force_and_Qualification_20230721-1.pdf I guess the NJSP is saying there will be no updates to the 'interim' process until there's additional guidance.
  25. Indeed. At the end of the day someone signing the document is taking accountability for it (even it it's for themself), so if they're a recognized Instructor who is approved to do the sign-off, I don't think it should be a show-stopper.
