Big changes coming from this: *Bump-stock/binary trigger ban *Now required to be 21 to purchase any firearm from an FFL *3 day waiting period on all firearms, except when a CWL holder or has a hunter safety course for rifles or shotguns *If proven to be a danger to themselves or others, can be ordered by a court to have all firearms and ammunition confiscated. All must be returned within 72 hours of the orders being rescinded *Certain school employees after passing psych eval and additional training on top of CWL can carry a firearm in the classroom, program must be adopted at the county level Link to Bill: www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2018/07026/?Tab=Analyses

The M&P is on the table. But the G19 is not. I already had one and sold it. Way out of my budget lol. Like more than double! Also out if budget and it’s a 10 round gun I could obtain later. Also, since CCW doesn’t exist here, I’d prob stick to a shield or a P365 if I ever got a carry gun. The VP9 I already own is actually a Tactical model with a threaded barrel, exta mag and night sights! I appreciate the input guys!

I buy Hornady TAP 55 gr from Sportsman Outdoor Superstore. It’s priced well now but occasionally goes on sale for $10 or $11 a box. https://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/175141 Shipping is reasonable, too.

Thanks but as I mention above, I already have a VP9 and a P226 lol. I’m pretty well covered as you can see. The P-10c hasn’t really caught my eye, especially since it had many issues early on. I had a G19 but sold it. I couldn’t get myself to like the ergonomics or trigger. The P320 is a nice idea actually. I don’t think I’ll like a Beretta though, I hate manual safeties! Another idea was the P365 since I believe it ships with a 12 rounder. But those have also been having a lot of early adoption issues! Thanks for your input

It’s definitely easier to order a handgun with the standard mags that it comes with, rather than 1) Be able to find the model with 10 round mags, 2) find a dealer nice enough to swap 10 rounders or 3) have the gun sent without mags at all. Right now, the CZ P-07 has my interest, as does the S&W M&P 2.0 Compact. Both are 15 rounds standard. Budget is preferably mid to high $400s or less. Not looking for anything I can get after we’re reduced to 10. This rules out any CCW guns or revolvers. I already have a Sig P226, CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical, CZ 75 compact, CZ 75 Pre B, and HK VP9. Thanks for your suggestions!

I wish the focus would be more about the systemic failure of law enforcement in FL at every level- federal, county & local- which directly led to this shooting. They knew about this guy and did nothing to ensure he’d show up on a NICS as prohibited. It blows my mind that people are demanding more laws, when the current ones on the books, which would have prevented this tragedy, were simply not enforced.

I travel to DC to visit my close friend quite often and will be there again in a couple weeks. I know DC offers nonresident CCW and I’d like to know if anyone here can provide any tips or insight as to the process. Seems cumbersome so any help is appreciated (I searched the forum but couldn’t find any other threads). Thanks!

This is all inaccurate. The Legislature quickly undid that "recommendation" and Christie is gone leaving the state to Murphy who will sign every new gun control bill headed his way. I'd say by the time he's done, we'll be worse than DC, NY and MA where it's at least possible to get CCW in parts of those states. I really believe we would be well suited at #51 because we'll have all the new AWB stuff that those states have PLUS zero CCW statewide.

Someone say VP9? Looked what I picked up tonight from Ocean Armory! Honorable mention: Definitely consider a CZ!

Welcome! A word of caution, the Bill, not law, you're referring to is HR 38 which has not passed the Senate and is not law. National reciprocity isn't law. Not sure it ever will be...
