  1. That coyote case is very vey sweet - GLWS - wish you were closer
  2. While the Yorktown is nice...crawl over the Laffey The Vietnam experience is excellent....looks a bit like a firebase.. the PBR was just redone...
  3. Patriots Point hands down... Ft. Moultrie.... Walk the Bridge, do the waterfront...forego city market.... Eat at the Post House Inn, Indaco, Leon's Oyster shop, go to the Gin Joint.... sit out back at the Blind Tiger....Prohibition any place on King.
  4. Gm Mark.... As they say, buy the gun, not the story. Looked at the pics, feel free to call. If you give the name of the competitor and match, it should be easy to find the award, if that's true. It's basically a 4.8milliin serial SA M1 with a 53 barrel, that is NOT in the white. Someone added a NM oprod...but all other parts do not appear to be NM (national match) I would have to compare drawing numbers and would.like to see the trigger group and inside of oprod. Nice M1 nonetheless and wonder what it guages. But, again the 'story' is not the rifle...the metal and wood are.... Private sale market in NW NJ...1200ish...additional value plus/minus depends on guage and other parts, as well as drawing numbers and if it headspaces.
  5. Pm me.... paging @1563621 You have to have some serious provenance to make those claims.... interesting to see the data.

I have found it all depends on the prep and application.... I personally have only used duracoat that has been heat cured... seems to hold up.... But as with anything it's the prep of the metal that matters....
  7. Just dive in ! Magic happens.... Sometimes.... lol
  8. Literally....grab a screwdriver and start taking it apart...take pics each step of the way.... You will soon see dried out seals etc...there must be a serviceanualmout there somewhere...lol
  9. Beater FM Model 90... add FN frame assembly complete.... dehorn M90 frame... all duracoated... beater pistol...totally accurate.. But added a stipple job this morning...grippy !
  10. Some guy just walked into the shop with it and wanted to sell it..... I felt I paid too much for the condition it came in but the bore was excellent... Ty! Ty !
  11. Duracoat...that is actually, holding up
  12. So after removing all the MIM parts except for the glued in extractor - I did a little work to the front strap. Nothing like a hand stipple to increase the grippiness, without the bite.
  13. This is a Israeli Police HP that I got in for myself, and wanted to refurb it - before, after's and trigger work. Didn't like the spur hammer and changed it to the ring hammer. Polished the trigger bar contact area on the frame, shortened and re-profiled the trigger bar tip and polish engagement area. Cleaned up the sear engagement area and polished. Polished the sear spring contact point in the spring and the sear. Polished the trigger bar contact locations for sear, frame sides and trigger bar contact point Added a stronger trigger return spring... You can see the take-up, till the trigger bar sits perfectly against the sear lever, a clean break with no overtravel and then a smooth audible and felt reset. No hammer push off and no hammer follow.

At this time - I am just gonna wait - I have enough to keep me busy and was looking for a project. They will free up soon enough, probably be given a shitty overall review by some shooters who do not understand it, or will not work on their own gun etc. Just got around to doing a trigger job on one of mine - ill post it in another thread

For the life of me I *cannot* find one !!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  18. Guns are but one factor to leave NJ - sadly I was supposed to be typing this from West of the Ashley at this time this year, sadly that is not the case. However, that has been a blessing for family reasons at this time - it is a matter of time, shooting for next fall. Until then, keep shooting, keep buying guns, keep buying ammo - stick it up their arses - and snub your finger at them whenever you can. They pass a law that the gun has to be locked up etc. - ok come enforce it - I will have an unlocked lockbox in my nightstrand and a loaded pistol under my pillow - as always.
