  1. Glad I saw this thread. I was thinking an AK would be pretty cool and saw the VSKA. But seeing as I don't know anything about AK manufacturers I wouldn't know who to go to or who to stay away from.
  2. Problem solved. Couldn't shoot an animal. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  3. What's really the advantage of using a bi-pod over a bench rest? And as for a muzzle brake/compensator, any suggestions? Not much results out there for the 5.56 Ranch.
  4. It's ridiculous to me because smoking weed is a victimless crime. You can't accidentally hurt someone by smoking weed in your living room. You don't carry a gun because it looks cool. You carry it to defend yourself (hopefully). But the use of the gun you carry has much deadlier consequences than the not deadly consequences of someone lighting up a joint. That's why I think it's a ridiculous comparison. It's a comparison of two activities which have drastically different potential consequences. If your argument is that weed is illegal but it's not enforced, I'd say just because something is illegal doesn't make it automatically wrong (or legal is right). Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  5. I mean, it's going to remain illegal to be drunk or high while driving. It's going to remain against every club's rules to not be high while shooting. I just think complaining that I can't carry a gun but people can get high is a ridiculous argument. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  6. My whole point is that fighting against weed is absurd. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  7. So you are upset that you can't carry your gun to potentially shoot someone, but I or someone else may get away with sitting on the porch, lighting up, and relaxing?
  8. Muzzle brake? Someone suggested one yesterday. And what's the difference between a lot of the bipods?
  9. The wife and I got a nice 16yo scotch going right now. Splash of water to help release the aromas and flavors. Pretty solid. Royal Brackla 16yo.
  10. Probably not regardless of what follows that. NJ doesn't care about citizens being able to protect themselves.
  11. I always look over the entire car before driving away in it. Document every minor scratch or dent. CYA Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  12. Non-violent crime I don't care about so much. Certainly not worth kicking them out for. After all, it's not like most people saying kick them out for all crimes give a crap if an American breaks the same laws. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  13. Here's where I get annoyed by the sanctuary issue. It's one thing to let them stay with some minor offense but violent crime cannot be tolerated. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  14. Finally opening Black Friday!
  15. Well, first shot was outside. But otherwise, shooting into a packed crowd that's moving at a single target is irresponsible. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  16. I've looked up stuff like that and would love to do it. I have about 2.5 weeks of vacation time saved up. If I don't use any by the end of next year, I get paid out for whatever I saved over 3 weeks. Tempting to keep working and get a few weeks extra pay but time off would be good. I want to do a WW2 tour starting in England going thru Normandy, rest of France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany. I got to see some cool stuff in Poland (spoiler: everyone screwed them in WW2). Its another thing is I'd like to attend WW2 lectures in multiple participating countries. See how it's taught in Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, China, Japan, Korea. 17. My two highlight groupings of the day. Took a bit to zero. Without adjustments it started about 4" left and 4" down. But finally got it around where I want. Windy as hell today. The tighter grouping is just under 1" at 100 yards. Rifle felt great. I'm going to be honest, I was greatly amused by how far ejected brass went flying each time I chambered a new round. 18. I just put the rings on and the scope before bowling tonight. Saturday will be when I give it some love. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  19. I suppose posting a pic is doable. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  20. I made my decision. I'd like to thank you all for your advice. Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 NATO, flush fit 5 round mag .223 Wolf Gold FMJ Nikon Prostaff 5 3.5-14X40 Matte BDC Got the ammo in yesterday and scope today. Dear God it's so beautiful.
  21. Wolf Gold 223? Target Sports has it at $279.50 for 1000 rounds. Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40mm is looking pretty solid. Leupold lists it at $325 but Amazon has it at $280. Sounds like a great deal.
  22. It's glorious! Feels so comfortable, can't wait to get it to the range. Didn't get a scope yet. Chatting with the guy there left me with some things to ponder. I said I was looking to spend less than $200 on a scope (which is silly considering I spent more than that for my .22lr). We went over a few and he mentioned that $200 is really the line where things can drastically improve. Was checking out a Nikon 4-12x40 that was selling for $250 (Just found it for $219 on Amazon 2 day shipping with Prime). Seems like a solid deal. Then comes ammo. One site said use 5.56 to zero the scope, then .223 for target practice. Woman at the shop said the type of 5.56 really doesn't make a difference. Suggestions?
  23. That was along my line of thinking. I don't need something that is like 20X, will have adjustments that will move my aim 1mm at 500 yards, etc.
  24. On the off chance anyone cares, I'm picking up the last Ruger American Ranch in 5.56 that they have. Now I just need to get a scope for it because I don't think my red dot/3X magnifier won't do it at longer ranges. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
