Shotgun with no Serial Number?

I legally came into possession of a shotgun which has no serial number on it (Older than 1968 I would presume).

 

I cannot find the COE that was used to transfer the gun, :oops:

 

If I was to sell this gun, what would be recorded as the serial number?

From that link:

I had one of those guns only 20 ga and 22 mag(wish I still had it). I can't remember correctly but I thought mine had some numbers under the forearm or on the tang that the butt stock bolt goes into, which u'd have to take the butt stock off to see. Mine, I don't believe, was as old as yours although.

Will do if i ever get rid of it. Just didn't know if that was kosher or not.

I have no idea. But I would probably listen to PK90 or TB

tbtrout is correct. I have a Stevens 5100 (made in the late 40s I think) that has no serial number and that's the way it gets recorded on the COE or 4473.
