Scope and mount for SKS

Recommended Posts

The only way to get a accurate mount that holds 0 on a sks is by drilling and tapping the receiver.

Mounting on the receiver cover is a waste of time. Is this Russian a refurb or a bubba job? If not I would

rethink any Permanent alteration of that rifle. I collect all variants of the SKS and some can be quite valuable.

This is a Russian one, very good condition. There is some sort of a mount on the left side of the receiver and was wondering types of scopes used at that time.

The mount is defiantly after market.

Can you post and picture so I can see, there are a few different types.

typically it's something along these lines.

Most use a posp type scope on them, or you can get a side mount with weaver railes and mount anything you want to the top.

Like I asked....on a semi?

Why not? More and more people are going longer range with semi's then bolt actions these day's.

Hunters are turning over to the AR platform more then ever because it's so versatile and uppers can be switched out

faster then changing your pants. There are a lot of guy's that hunt with SKS 7.62x39 in a soft point is a good deer dropper and there are several sks's designed just for hunting with flushed 5 round magazines.

The thought of not being able to go more then 100 yards with accuracy with a semi auto is old school thinking.

Way to many semi's being made with outstanding accuracy and with the right hand load some can even keep up with

the bolt actions.
