ah141nj 0 Posted December 11, 2009 What is the minimun age a young adult has to be to shoot a pistol? Of course he/she will be in the company of a FID holder & a NRA pistol instructor if that matters. Cant find ino on this.
GoNRA 12 Posted December 11, 2009 The range says you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. They perfer 18, but I've seen kids around the age of 10 shooting.
Melgamatic 66 Posted December 11, 2009 Are you talking about a specific range or the state in general? My son at 10 shoots all the time, and did when he was 9 as well. Monmouth County doesn't care as long as the parent is there. Cherry Ridge doesn't let kids shoot pistols until 12, I think, but there are clubs in the state with 22 pistol teams for much younger kids, I believe. -dave
djg0770 481 Posted December 11, 2009 Brick Armory let my 9 yr old shoot pistol - no problem as long as I was responsible and observant. Bullet Hole says 10 yrs old if I recall to shoot at their range. Cherry Ridge has a minimum age requirement of 10 yrs for rifle, I think Melg is right about pistol being 12 yrs old.
