Redfish62 1 Posted February 25, 2010 Do I have to wait until my handgun permit expires or do I need to get the extention before the permit expires? I am waiting out the 30 days from my last handgun purchase (Yes it was a Hi-Point .380) and my 2nd (Taurus 94 .22LR / 9 shoot) will be next week but my 3rd will expirer before the 30 day wait period is over. PK90 3,573 Posted February 26, 2010 It is up to the issuing authorities discretion. Call them to ascertain your answer.
Dozer 0 Posted March 1, 2010 To be on the safe side find out about extention before it expires. If your lucky and get it done fast, don't use until 30 days after last purchase.
EngineerJet 191 Posted March 1, 2010 In my case I just brought the permit to the issuing authority, told them i wanted an extension, the cop took it and was nice about it, i explained the gun i wanted was not in stock due to backorder and he went "No suprise there, ever since the dems got back in office..." He just asked the guy in charge to sign it and he left me a message to pick up my permits again all in the same day. its not a complicated issue, just needs a signature. DnJ90 0 Posted March 22, 2010 Last time I needed an extension in my town I had to drop the permit off along with a letter to the chief explaining why I needed the extension.I was told at that point he could approve or deny it.
