Going to get the quick Try quick release front sling adapter that pops into the gas block. Thanks.
bbk 188 Posted July 22, 2010 The handguards will fit, given the rifle you're getting is a carbine version (7"). There are a lot of cheap slings, though what's your definition of cost effective? And what type of sling are you considering? (one point, two, three?) You can get a good quality sling for $40-60. I'll link later when I'm not doing this from my phone. ETA: OK, back on the PC. I'm not sure what model you have on the way, but all of the MP15 models I've seen are carbine length, which noted above is 7'' long. The different companies that sell handguards will either list it as "carbine" length or 7'' in the specs (make sure to get the right length of course). I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money, but I would suggest one of these companies for handguards: Daniel Defense, Troy, YHM, Midwest Industries, KAC, Larue, and VLTOR. You have the luxury of choosing handguards that require installing a proprietary barrel nut since you'll be installing a muzzle device. Just make sure to install said handguards w/ proprietary barrel nut BEFORE permanently attaching whichever muzzle device. Have your smith do it for example. I'm not a fan of badmouthing companies in the industry, but UTG is an airsoft company. And while I have no issues with airsoft at all, why put something meant for airsoft on the real thing? Spend a bit more, and get Daniel Defense or Troy Industries-- it'll be worth it. And if you don't want to spend 150-250+, then consider the Magpul MOE handguards for around $25 (Magpul sells a lot of accessories that are meant for these handguards as well). As for slings, defer to what I said originally. Its going to really depend on what type of sling you want (1/2/3 pt). Once you have that figured out, it'll be easier to figure out what exactly should be considered.
Caine 147 Posted July 23, 2010 Ben is spot on. Something like this is a MUCH better choice: http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx? ... groupid=52 Yeah, it's more than double the price, but it's probably more than double the quality. ETA: for the price, I really like Gear Sector slings - http://www.gearsector.com/browse/category/slings/
DaveWaters 0 Posted July 23, 2010 This rail is solid... http://store.troyind.com/CAR_M4_Drop_In_Rails_p/srai-mrf-d7bt-00.htm I picked one up on ebay for $110 so look around theres probably a better price than $150 out there Perfect fit on M&P15ORC and has 4 sling QD points This sling .... http://www.blueforcegear.com/product.cfm?type=cat&cat_id=5&prod_id=112 Comfortable and well made but works best with the side QD on the rail instead of under the gas block
moparman426 5 Posted July 25, 2010 I just put this on my M&P 15, its rock sold. http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/ind ... gory_id=64 As for a sling, got an AR15 black web sling. and the quick release that mounts under the gas block. NOTE: pic was taken prior to the MI handguards being added.
