Selling Revolvers Out of State

Recommended Posts

I got a pair of clunkers I'm looking to unload.

If I sell them, or give them to a friend who lives in PA, I still have to dump 'em via NJ FFL to PA FFL right?

I thought I could trash 'em via directly going through a PA FFL, but I couldn't find anything stating anything either way.

You can bring them or ship them directly to the PA FFL for final transfer to the PA resident.

always go thru an ffl, gotta cover your butt and have a paper trail

My concern is that I want them *off* my record here in NJ. So I'll probably go NJ FFL > PA FFL

What paperwork does the ffl in nj have to file with the njsp when they receive a pistol? AFAIK, none, its only when the pistol permit is used to transfer them to the final recipient, so they would still be "ON" your record until (if) someone went through the paper trail.

The FFL in PA would provide you with a receipt.
