Bushmaster with Red Dot for $650 @ Cabelas

Recommended Posts

It's just not as durable as an alloy AR. That's why its 650 buckeroos.

Makes sense, as in from an impact/abuse perspective, as I could imagine the composite would crack before alloy bends/cracks. But from a take-to-the range gun, I havent found much information on the web when it comes to that.

I've found reviews that say , "its crap, the reciever will crack, etc", to "I have 17K rounds through mine without any problems, its a great rifle", and many comments on how many of the early problems +5 years ago have been solved by Bushmaster (mostly related to feed ramp issues).

I suppose it comes down to what you intend to use the rifle for. Lightweight range/ranch gun, i dont see why not. Life-depends on dropped in the middle of the wilderness gun... most definately not as its not proven enough for that.
