fliks 20 Posted February 4, 2011 Since NJZED is the closest thing we have to a "preparedness" area - I'll post it here. I was looking for something informative and prep related to listen to while doing chores around the house and I found this. So I wanted to share it with all of you guys and gals that are into the preps. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/doctorprepper also a forum I've gotten into recently, it's kinda small, but some nice prep info... http://www.grabtheapple.com/

Caine 147 Posted February 5, 2011 I used to listen to this one for a while - http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/ Covers lots of different topics. Didn't always agree with his gun stuff, but overall, it's not a bad show.

fliks 20 Posted February 6, 2011 thanks, SoR - I've seen and read some of Rawles' stuff, but I find him to be a bit over the top. If you don't have an armored castle somewhere in the boonies and a sh*t ton of ammo and all kinds of supplies, you're just not prepared in his opinion. I prefer FerFAL's blog - it's more realistic and from someone actually "living it". http://ferfal.blogspot.com/ As much as Rawles derides "armchair commandos" - he kinda is one too. I agree and admit I haven't been to that website for quite some time. I usually pick what I like and discard the rest. They did have some good articles there though or else I wouldn't have bookmarked it. I prefer the myspace link with a collection of videos... how to build a saw, a shelter, how to make a soap, what are the edible plants etc. I'm a visual person and videos tell it best. The best way to prepare is to find real friends who are aware (not facebook friends), know how to create something and to have knowledge of how to grow food. If SHTF so bad, I personally believe a castle in the boonies and all the ammo in the world won't save you because there's really very little secluded land these days and eventually you'll have to get out.
