BrianNJ 0 Posted February 27, 2011 Hey hopefully someone can help me out on this one. This past christmas for a gift my father wanted to give me his colt revolver and my grandmother wanted to give me a sig sauer pistol. Both are NJ residents and have FID cards. So the week following xmas I applied for FID and 3 permits to purchase. Received the permits and FID card this past week (2-25-11). As of this past friday (2-25-11) I did the paperwork with my father and submitted it to the local PD for legal transfer of the colt revolver. From my understanding their is a 30 day limitation on handgun purchases, does this 30 day limitation also apply to transfer of handguns between NJ residents? Little confused cause since I have a FID card I could legally borrow/possess (following NJ laws for transport) my grandmother's handgun to shoot at the range. Thanks
PK90 3,573 Posted February 27, 2011 A New Jersey resident can only acquire one handgun every 30 days, unless an exemption allows it. As posted, you are not exempt.
