Sunday 4/10 - Colliers Mills WMA for clays and rimfire

Recommended Posts

NJPilot (Keith) and I will be heading to Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area this Sunday morning to break some clays. I will bring two boxes of clays and have a step thrower. There are five shooting booths there and a couple of tables. The muzzleloader/rimfire range is open. You can shoot rimfire and shotgun there. You can shoot lead shot there (unlike Assunpink). As long as one member of the party has a valid hunting permit (I do), you are allowed to shoot there. I have NEVER seen a range officer there checking that though in all the times I have been there.

We will be getting there at 11am on Sunday. Come join the party.

Big advantage, it is FREE.

Directions:

From the NJ Turnpike south take Exit 7A to US 195; take US 195 east to exit 8;

From the Garden State Parkway, take exit 98 to 195 West. Take 195West to exit 8

take Rt. 539 south; follow Rt. 539 for 11.6 miles to Colliers Mills Road and go left (this will be the first left after New Egypt Speedway); follow Colliers Mills Rd. for .8 miles to the intersection of Hawkin Road; the entrance will be immediately ahead.

It will be a gravel road. ollow it and you will see signs for the range.

PM me for my cell phone and I can help you with the directions.

Yes, but you can shoot shotgun at the muzzleloader/rimfire range too. Normally it would be buckshot only at the muzzleloader range, and birdshot at the shotgun range. But with the shotgun range closed, it's OK.
