Ammo advice.

Recommended Posts

I just picked up some Hornady Critical Defense 110 gr FTX in 38 for my revolver. It's a plastic or wax tipped point so has no restrictions in NJ but supposedly performs similar to a hollow point.

Hollow points are restricted the same as handguns. So, wherever the handgun goes, the hollow points can go, too.

One of the best defensive rounds for for J-frame snubbies is Speer Gold Dot 135 gr JHP - short barrel. Go to Speer's website to get the correct SKU# for the "Short Barrel" version of this round. Specially formulated for low flash and optimim velocity from typical snub-nose length guns. It is my choice for a carry round in my 638.

Adios,
