Well, I'm still kinda broke, but I was broke when I started looking at different components of my AR also, so I just figured I'd see what's out there.
I don't care much for the old front-sight post on ARs, so I basically just have a railed gasblock, with a rail running down the length of the upper receiver/ rail system.
I'm not sure if different sights are better for longer rifles than shorter ones, so any advice on that would be appreciated, but to be honest, the M14's front sights are my favorite, and that's sort of what I'd like to get, the flared barleycorn sights they have, but I'm not sure if they make those for mounting on AR rails.
As for rear sights, I prefer peep-sights, though I'm not sure if there are better alternatives or not.
So basically what I'm asking for is some education on...
1) Are there M14 style front sights for ARs?
2)Is it indeed best to have sights situated as far apart as possible, and if not, what should I know about putting them on?
3) What is the best type of rear sight?
Any other pertinent information would be appreciated as well. I really don't have the cash for reflex sights or anything at the moment, and I'd like to have irons anyway, since I love shooting with ironsights, and I don't have to worry about keeping them powered if something happens.
You need to research some of these solid copper rounds. Some of them have extreme penetration.
I can carry under LEOSA. So I can carry hollowpoints. My first choice is WW Silvertips. The round the FBI condemned after the Miami Shootout. I can explain my choice if anyone wants to hear it.
When I lived by San Diego and went to LA, think it got to over $5.00, they had $100 limits per fill up, you had to put your card in again for a 2nd transaction to finish filling up, was told it was to prevent stealing, never understood it.
Also at some stations had guards to stop some people from forcing others to pay for their gas.
Also known as stealing.
