What paperwork do I need to sell a rifle?

I'm looking to sell off my MP15-22 as i have a new child on the way. Never sold a gun privately and not sure what Paperwork i need as a seller or what I should ensure the buyer has at time of sale.

 

Where do I get the paperwork?

Do I have to file the paperwork with PD?

just to go NJSP web site, print 2 COE forms (certificate of eligibilty) #SP634, have buyer fill out both forms, you keep one, buyer keeps other one, make sure drivers license & fid card have matching info

Thank you for the fast reply. Do I need to send any paperwork into the PD. In the event the buyer performs an illegal action how can I ensure I am not held accountable as the rifle may be registered to me when I buy it?

 

Sorry for the some may say stupid questions but want to ensure I am doing everything by the book and removing myself from any future liability.

You keep a copy of the CEO that was signed and dated by both parties. This is your "receipt" and proof that you sold the rifle. This sounds too easy, but it is the legal way to do it.
