A morning on the trail

Took my son for a morning hike. He's five and loves being outside. I'm trying to rediscover my love of the outdoors. A smile like this may help.

My son is only 2 so I have a while before I can do those hikes. By the way where is that?

Cheesequake is near old bridge. Exit 120 on the gsp. The trails are pretty short and easy. The shortest being .75 miles.

 

There are campgrounds, a fishing lake, swimming beach, playgrounds, grills, flush toilets, nature center.

 

Today there was no fee to get in. Free and fun. We wore blaze orange stuff because sections of the park are open to bow hunting. Even though we were alone in the morning, when we left the park was packed with trail walkers. I have to imagine that with so many people the deer hunting is a drag.

I can agree taking you kids walking is great. I started it with my 2 girls when they were 2 and 3. Start out short but fun and they will want to do it more.
