ID help with old ammo round

Can anyone help me identify the round in this picture? This is something that was a pickup from a WW2 battlefield in eastern Europe back in the early 1990's.

Thanks guys, def looks like 8x50r...similar to pics I'm seeing online. Interesting to find this in Poland of all places. Looking at the round it's marked, 5 on one side and 50 on the other. This would indicate manufactured in May 1950 I guess. Maybe a round used by post-war forces in the area that were stationed to clean up the battlefield?
