SKS evil features/922r scenario

Recommended Posts

So a fella buys an SKS

Ditches the bayonet lug, and installs an aftermarket stock with a pistol grip & collapsible stock

Mag is fixed, no barrel threads or muzzle device, rifle should be good?

Now,

This theoretical fellow has run afoul of 922r, hasn't he?

It seems so. Go to SKSboards.com and there is a download you can use to determine if you'll be in compliance. I was thinking of doing what you say to a Chinese SKS no bayonet lug, threads, or muzzle device. IIRC I was going to change to a US made fixed 10 rd magazineand follower as they count as two separate parts and I was still going to need 2 or 3 more US parts.

Simply put yes he has, this man needs to change out a few more parts with usa compliance parts.

There are many out there some harder then others to replace but it's easy enough.

Go to SKSboards.com

Good advise. that site is like my extended family really good brothers over there.
