wink-_-wink 1 Posted March 29, 2013 So, i recently purchased two new 10 rd mags for my pistol. Well they got here today and they wont stay in the gun.... i have a taurus pt 101 P. I ordered the mags from midway and they came in taurus packing. The mags say pt 100/ 101... it fits in the mag well but doesnt seat. A simple touch on the base plate and the mag comes out.... i only opened one of the two mags.... any advice? Anything a smith can do? Thanks.

blksheep 466 Posted March 29, 2013 Don't trust mags you have to modify to work. Send em back.

BOOMSTICK 6 Posted March 29, 2013 Maybe take a short vid of what the issue is and send it to them. Maybe they can point you to a fix on the magazines?

tony357 386 Posted March 29, 2013 Are the mags empty or fully loaded ? put your old one side by side with the new one and look for differences. call taurus tech line and explain your problem they may already know your answer. should have put thread in gunsmithing. blksheep 466 Posted March 29, 2013 Then what do i do about mags if these are from the dealer n dont work We had another guy at work who bought factory mags for his Taurus and they didn't work either. Wasnt your specific model but it sounds like it may be an issue with the manufacturing of mags.

Old Dog 19 Posted March 29, 2013 Some mags need to be slammed in with the heel of your hand. I have a few guns like that and I have pinched many a hand drawing blood doing this.
