We also discuss a variety of avenues for skill development and ideas for gun-related sports.NRA Basic Shotgun prepares you for active participation in the shotgun sports, and can help you decide what type of shotgun is best for you, before you buy one.We provide everything needed: shotguns, ammunition, all teaching materials, diagnostic test and certificate of training. All you need to bring is a willingness to learn and participate. I'm sure you'll enjoy it - we even include coffee, snacks and lunch. This class also forms a great foundation for more advanced, self-defense orientated shotgun courses, including the use of a shotgun in your home-defense plan. If you have your own firearm please feel free to bring it, but you can take the course in advance of obtaining a shotgun. If there is a friend or family member, or someone who may have access to your shotgun with your permission, consider having them take the course too, whether or not they have a gun of their own.
