Whats the deal with 30-30 lately?

Really having trouble finding the stuff locally and anything except the premium stuff online.. Just looking for some simple target stuff.. Is this the new norm for a round that I thought was a staple in the shooting world?

New norm, gun shops used to stock it, Dicks included. Guessing ammo companies only making the premium stuff now for hunters, and using productions lines for other ammo.

I have a die set , brass , bullet heads , primers ---------- no powder !  And --- no gun to use it in !

Same with 45 Colt.  It was still available everywhere when everything else was scarce.  Now that other calibers are starting to show up in stores again, 45 Colt is nowhere to be found.

 

I was told that there was less demand for the less popular rounds so they stayed on the shelves longer after the panic started.  In the mean time, the manufacturers retooled to keep up with the demand for the rounds that were in demand and are not producing the more unusual stuff right now.  I wish I was smarter, I would have stocked up but I wrongly believed that since demand was low, supply would always be high.

Freedom Munitions has had Colt in stock for awhile.. I've used their 45 ACP stuff with great results...wish they stocked 30-30

Ammoman.com had 45 colt in stock last I checked.  You have to call him and go pick it up Berlin in person though.  They do not ship to new jersey.  If you bring cash he will knock the price down a bit.
