Browning 1911 .45

Recommended Posts

so to go into more depth. when John Moses Browning left Colt and went to work for FN/H, Colt still owned the patents to the 1911, which he designed but didn't own the work... so due to Colt holding the patents, he had to design an entirely new gun that operated and looked different enough to 'pass muster' legally... but had the spirit of the 1911, which was the Hi-Power... which was a 9mm firearm with twice the capacity of a 1911 , thus the "Hi-Power" designation.

BTW, old school Belgian Hi-Powers are some of the finest firearms you could ever hope to hold, shoot, or own.  I would *LOVE* a classic Belgian made Hi Power.
