MedicYeti 96 Posted December 4, 2014 NJ Law copied directly from the NJSP website. Electronic NICS is not an approved method - technically. I can't find a legal waiver or update. I just found this interesting and didn't have much else to do. "NICS" means the National Instant Criminal Background Check System accessed by telephone or facsimile transmission through the Division of State Police, which retailers must contact for information on whether a person is prohibited from receiving or possessing a firearm under State or Federal law. illy 1 Posted December 5, 2014 IANAL, but I'll happily lawyer this one- Facsimile: a system of transmitting and reproducing graphic matter (as printing or still pictures) by means of signals sent over telephone lines. Sufficiently vague to pass muster
jackandjill 683 Posted December 5, 2014 NJ never breaks thw law. They only apply it when convenient. IF something gets hacked, they can claim this policy, fire bunch of guys and possibly stick it to FFLs.
