Displaced Texan 11,757 Posted October 21, 2020 I know this forum has fellow Star Wars nerds and collectors here, so I thought I’d offer this to you guys first. Otherwise, it goes to a collectors shop. This is a limited edition, Star Wars X-wing fighter by Icons. The famous ‘Red 5’ X-wing fighter, piloted by Luke Skywalker. The model is what as known as ‘studio scale’, in other words, it’s the same size, and detail, as the original filming miniatures used to film the movie. The model itself is approximately 20” long, and 18” wide. Icons cast these in resin, and the model was cast off the original ‘pyro’ x-wing models. These were the ones that were blown up in the movie. Because the castings came from the original molds, it has direct lineage to the movie. It is magnificently detailed. It’s mounted on a ‘Death Star’ base, and has an acrylic cover for protection. The entire piece measures 23” long x 20” wide. It’s impressive, and would make an incredible display in a media/theater room, or game room. Icons produced these under license from Lucasfilm in 1997, for the 20th anniversary of Star Wars. There were 1977 made, celebrating the year Star Wars was released. This is number 550 out of that edition. It’s in good condition, the model and the base are very good, the acrylic case has typical scratches and cracks from moving around over 20+ years. It has a certificate of authenticity from Icons. This is an extraordinarily cool piece, and it needs a new home. I’m selling it because I’m terrified it would get damaged in the move to Texas. $750, or make me a reasonable offer. Local pick up in Stratford, NJ, 08084, as it would be a nightmare to ship without damaging it. I’m happy to take more pictures, upon request. Per forum rules, the first one to say ‘I’ll take it’ in the thread, followed by a PM, gets it.
